So what's the Plan for Day 2?

The plan for day two is hopefully trade some of our players we're looking to trade for either picks or players at positions of need.

We still should be able to get a guy like Michael Onwenu or Kyle Hinton in the 5th to be able to compete at OG.

Which leaves CB and to a lesser extent OT.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see a Dee Ford trade for a day 2 pick then a Clowney/Griffen signing.

Didn't realize ST had that high of a cap hit on a rookie contract. That would change minds for sure.

Beathard is a backup to a backup because KS values him that way.

Anyway, I'm not saying we can make all these deals for max value. Just throwing ideas out for the sake of today is going to be pretty boring if they don't make some moves.

as i said, usually i am not for trading future picks.
But this year / next season are special:

• you wont know if there is a college season or not and if, if its a complete season. So the draft will be more of a crapshot than this year
• this years draft class is really deep, so lots of earlier round talent left thats getting pushed back
• we are certrainly in "win now" mode as picking two immediate starters shows in the first round. we cant risk to not adress IOL and DB this year and wait for next year

Dude there's gonna be a college season same as the NFL. There might not be anyone in the stadiums, but there will be games more than likely.

No more moving future picks. They had chances to move down for picks THIS YR and instead moved up and called it a draft basically.... Lynch and Kyle talked about it last night. They made those moves for Ford/Sanders and while they backup those trades because it got us to the SB, they don't want to continue down that road of giving up future picks.

We made our picks last night and now have to deal with watching other teams scoop up talent. Is what it is. Apparently in their eyes they came away with 2 top 10 talents in this class

According to OTC....We'd be saving around $9M but eating $6M. There would be DM the next 3 yrs as well. I don't see why a team would give up a day 3 pick for Ford and take on his contract? especially with his injury.

Nothing for day 2 in terms of 49er picks. This is what I had in mind for the rest of the draft though...

Trade Breida to Philly for pick 145 overall (late 4th).
Trade Marquise Goodwin for a middle to late 5th round pick.

Gives us 5 Day 3 picks and frees up cap space. Target OL, TE, S, CB and LB

Don`t blame other posters, we are just posting our opinions.
I don`t think that ShanaLynch will stay at home and are in a "we come back saturday" mode.
If there are opportunities that present themselves, they will of cause react.
And some posters try to list those opportnuities. Nobody in here knows what kind of probability they got in our FOs minds.
Noone would have expected us to move up from 31. Lynch painted a total different picture in the last days, so why are you as content he wont do different than what he told the media yesterday after round one?

Unless we trade Breida and Goodwin for Day 3 picks and we are able to package them to climb up, I don't see anything happen.
Kyle was saying last night that they don't like being in the position of not having day 2 picks, it was something they felt they had to do last season, but it's not something they're too fond of. So I'd say trading away next year's picks it's a long shot. Maybe later in the season again, if we're having problems with injuries.

Likely there will be very little or nothing happening in 49erland today

If their primary trade capital is Breida and Goodwin, the RB and WR draft options are still pretty deep.

Soloman Thomas might have some value, but if I was a GM, I think there are still some good options on the board.

Maybe they could flip Mullens to NE for a late pick?
