If Lynch was creative here I could see variations of trades as follows:
Thomas and a 2021 5th to NE for pick 98 (NE has 4 third rounders)
Goodwin and #210 to CHI for pick #168
2021 1st rounder to HOU for pick #40

So what's the Plan for Day 2?

I can see them trying to trade Goodwin or Thomas or maybe even DJ, but mostly what I can see is them being happy with most of the roster and definitely unwilling to mortgage the future, shutting down for one day, then hopefully picking up O linemen (plural) and maybe a tight end on day 3.

James--is he expendable?
Wilson Jr--he belongs on an active roster and not living on a practice squad
Beathard--doubt we want 3 QB's on the roster next year since Jimmy showed he can stay healthy
None of those dudes are worth a day 2 pick.
You would have to trade two or three of them together to get a second round pick. Like Pettis, Soloman and Beathard.
have you ever seen a team trade a second or third round pick for three below average players? Why would they do that?

Exactly this!! The only value we hold is in next years picks.

My most passionate Niner friend called me last night and we discussed this. The Niners can either trade picks for 2021 or trade some current players this year. I personally believe it would be better to hang on to the future picks and try to trade current players and/or picks this year for, hopefully, 2nd day picks. We also discussed how successful the Niners are with finding good players in late rounds and how well they do with UDFA's

I normally wouldn't want to trade future picks, but there are so many good plyers this year in round two. We will have to take a tackle in round one to replace Staley. The depth was great this year. Will Jones or Cleveland in round two be better than what we could get at the end of the first next year? This would be the only reason I'd think about trading the 1st next year for a 2nd

Maybe trade up to get someone. I like Troy Dye, LB from Oregon.

NYniner85, one can feel the bitterness in your postings.
Don`t blame other posters, we are just posting our opinions.
I don`t think that ShanaLynch will stay at home and are in a "we come back saturday" mode.
If there are opportunities that present themselves, they will of cause react.
And some posters try to list those opportnuities. Nobody in here knows what kind of probability they got in our FOs minds.
Noone would have expected us to move up from 31. Lynch painted a total different picture in the last days, so why are you as content he wont do different than what he told the media yesterday after round one?
I'm not blaming the posters lol. I simply don't agree, not any different than anything else we talk about in here.
I think Kyle will stay at home because everyone is at home currently
I'm simply being realistic. We don't have players that will require a team to give up a top 64 pick for. I don't see the point in pretending like we do.
We can't magically pull 2nd/3rd rd picks out of our butts. They had two players that they clearly had much higher grades on than some people thought and got them. Good/bad who knows.
So yeah end of the day I'll be shocked if SF makes a draft selection tonight.

Yea, very unlikely we will. Tonight is the night to start calling some UDFA type dudes and get that ball rolling.

Yeah like another poster said, Thomas and a future 4th or something to move up into the 3rd is really the only type of scenario that this team has IMO.
Anyone talking about throwing out our future 1st or 2nd need to calm down. Sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and take the good with the bad for one draft yr when you trade picks for players
