I'm not buying it one bit.

I doubt they bought into the Giants looking into him. Probably more worried about LAC trying to jump them or some shocking move like the Pats coming all the way up to 3 for him.

Pro Football Talks' Mike Florio reports the Dolphins are attempting to acquire the No. 3 pick in order to make the Bengals a Godfather offer for the No. 1 pick.

Per Florio, "The Dolphins believe that a potential Godfather offer to the Bengals for the first overall pick would be even harder to refuse if the Dolphins offer both No. 3 and No. 5 as part of the package. That's the primary purpose of the Miami effort to finagle No. 3 from Detroit." Previously ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Bengals have declined the Dolphins' efforts to move up to No. 1. It's unlikely we see that stance change, although two top-five picks would certainly be enticing.

Then if we stay you'll be happy with whoever they pick
I think I'm in the minority here with that the 13th pick doesn't scream SB winning value. I don't see one player being drafted there that will propel us to the top. We have no picks in the 2nd-4th rds. We can get good depth with some more valued picks but we don't have much to work with.

Dolphins want Tua. They just want to Charges to think they like Herbert or an OT so that the Chargers dont move ahead for Tua. Dolphins are paranoid and contacting every team ahead of them making sure nobody moves or that they are given the chance to beat the trade out. NY or DET should be able to con Miami into a deal.

Ok, on NFL.com they have Tua sliding to 15. I think no way no how. If he is available at 13

A. Look for a trade partner
B. Draft Tua as the salary slot at 13 is feasible for a back up player QB. Let him develop and see if competition is good even at the qb spot

I don't think there is any chance Tua falls to us at 13. Even if somehow both the dolphins and Chargers were dumb enough to pass on him. You still got other teams who could take him like the Jags and raiders. You also have the likely scenario of teams trading up way before us to grab him. If he did somehow Miraculously fall to us at 13, then I think you have to take him. QB is the most important position in the NFL. Getting someone with Tua's talent at 13 is a no brainier. I would have no problem with letting him and Jimmy G compete for the starting job. evaluate both QBs this season. If Jimmy G is the better QB you should still be able to get some draft capital back for Tua. It is worth some potential losses to ensure we got the QB position solved.
So you want to trade the 13th pick for a 2nd and a 5th? Cause that's what Arizona just did and Rosen was the 10th pick. Think I will pass!
just to clear some things up

1. of course we are listening to trade down/up offers
2. of course we ALL know that you need a trade partner to trade up/down
3. we don't know outside of the obvious who is considered "falling" to us at 13.

I think there's going to be a run on OTs, with teams behind us trading up to get one. These is why I believe Ruggs make it to us at #13.

Yeah that's probably what it is. Obviously the Giants won't take him. I think Jones is gonna be great.

That's ok, man - can't be perfect.

Gotcha, gotta be (football wise) if you're throwing out Aldon Smith comps

He was so refine as a pass rusher. Had size/burst/hands/length etc. Chassion is a athlete with short arms, I saw him get throw to the ground way too much for my liking. If I was gonna get crazy and throw out a Smith comp it would be YGM and he just looks like him (doesn't really play like him yet).

There simply isn't a edge rusher worth a top 25 pick outside of Young IMO. Just not the yr for EDGE.

He may be getting that comp from here

They're both pass rushers. There's bound to be similarities,...anyone saying otherwise just gets too emotional when they hear certain names to be objective. Comparisons are just that,...he doesn't have to be a drunk that gets in constant trouble or anything to be compared to him.

That would be the worst case scenario. I think we would be more likely to get a 1st rounder for him in 2021 if Jimmy G was better. Rosen got that because he played that season and sucked. Best case scenario though. Tua is an upgrade over Jimmy G and you now have a better QB who is on a rookie deal and not costing you 25 mil per season. It doesn't matter though. There is no chance in hell Tua is there at #13.

BRB, Henry Ruggs is just like Alshon Jeffery, cause they're WR's, there's bound to be similarities.

You can't compare two vastly different players with different skillsets, different builds and even different levels of athleticism just because they play the same position. Chaisson has far more in common with someone like Vic Beasley than Aldon Smith who was bigger, longer and much more refined as a pass rusher with crazy good hands.

Most certainly they can remind you of each other. Saying they have nothing in common as top draft choices is COMPLETE exaggeration. Kinda like equating "exactly alike" to "reminds me of" or "similar to."

Let's calm the emotions a little and debate some real opinions. They don't have to eat the same cereal to compare.

Its a forum for football fans, if there's a one place where hyperbole is acceptable, this would be it.
