Fill the hole with Armstead and draft a true edge guy.

Armstead is not going to be nearly as good without Buckner by his side next season. Watch and see.

The defense can afford to give a little, weapons on offense are needed!

Yes. But I don't think we have the QB who can hit them anyway. So defense is our best bet.

Underrated take. The W9 is most ideal with two Bosa like edge players, not one that's 6'7" 295. And with Ford'z Kneez, might be very smart esp. if we want to pull the rip cord on him and his cap hit next season. Of course 3T wasn't meant for a 6'7" 295 pound player either but whatever. LOL

Is there a great ER at 13?
I'd love to see Derrick Brown drop...odds are against it, but what can change that is both QB's & OT's flying off the board plus some teams trading up. That could be the recipe to shake up the top half of the 1st rd. If it does, Lynch could get the best DL in the draft...Brown's got everything you'd want in a DT/DL...adding him to our DL could help fill the huge void left with Buckner's departure.

That would be fine with me and best for this team.

So many DL investments we had to get rid of our best one. Eff that. Time to protect our FQB. Saleh s**ts out run defenders in his sleep. We're covered there.
I hope that we can trade back to 16, get a second and third and still get the player that shanalynch wants. Draft fantasy is always hopeful.

If staying at 13 I'd want a blue chip LT of the future or WR. Scoring more TDs where the team doesn't have to string together long drives or rely on the running game will improve the team more in the long run than another DT and I like Brown and Kinlaw?

You know what will make for no drop off on defense?

If Kwon, Dee, Jimmie, and Arik perform to what they're getting paid. Guys like Fred, Nick, and Dre continue to get better.

Agreed.
I won't even tease myself in to thinking this is possible. Twelve teams are not passing on him.

Don't think that there aren't any other teams looking at Ruggs. Someone (sea chickens?) might sell the farm for this guy. And the Niners need 2nd 3rd 4th round picks cause that's where your gems are found. So, unless 13 is a sure thing (and there IS no such thing), the Niners will trade down for more draft capital and work from there. Going to be interesting.

Bosa seemed like a sure thing. Willis was a sure thing to me. Every now and again, they happen. Take Ruggs and trade back from 31. If Ruggs isn't available, then take Jeudy. If neither, then go edge rusher.

LT, DT, WR or CB is fine. We can use all of those. I hope there is a run on QB's and we can have a blue chip prospect fall to us.

13th pick = one of top 3 WR's, Derek Brown or Tristan Wirfs

If none are available, trade down for next best WR's (Mims or Reagor) or best available CB.

31st pick = definite trade down for day 2 picks. Find C/OG replacement for Person or Richburg and a second tier DT like Madubuike or Blacklock.

Rounds 5-7 Edge Rusher, 3rd TE, Box Safety or developmental OT, LB to replace Nzeocha/Lee.

I agree that would be a good way to go on pick #13. Also trading out of #31 for day 2 picks if we can maybe land 2 of them would be great. I feel like #31 is almost a 2nd rounder anyway. Pretty close to that at least.

Our d will still be top 5....our passing game needs way more help than the dl.

Very true. We pick up a guard/center and maybe a dl or cb if one falls
