He's 6-5 325lbs belt squats 2,000lbs guys his size shouldn't move like he does

I think its real important we put a major asterisk next to that.....

People might not know what a belt squat is, and think it has any relation to an actual squat. Even more so......The squat your referring to had guys standing on the machine bracing themselves on non-weight bearing sections of the machine. Calling it a 2k squat is like hand timing a WR running down hill and just going with it.

It was not even a clean belt squat.

The dude is very strong, he did not however squat 2k (basically doubling the world record).

Might actually see some batted down passes, I rarely seen Armstead and Buckner bat down passes with how tall they are.

I noticed this on his highlights and immediately thought of Chris Jones (fortunately, but unfortunately ).

Can't wait to see his game when it is fully refined!

This might be the best point in 49er history...at least in the modern era for the 49ers to truly grow a rookies skill set.

The team has shown a really good ability to expand the game of players, and increase thier production. Plus they have a real band of brothers mentality.

I could very well see the players take Kinlaw under their wing and steer him in the right direction. Guys like AA know the ropes and know what its like to work for success.

Kinlaw is not a boom or bust player, but he is a player that has tons of room for improvement, and this is the right environment to get people to work to be their best. It was a good pick and i am excited to watch him grow.

With his forte being shooting the gap and pushing the middle back, I think he is better suited to create for Bosa and AA then Defo was. Even Kinlaw 1.0 has real value for Bosa and AA.

I wanted Lamb or Wirfs....but lets not look a gifted horse in the mouth...this pick was a real win.

Great post! I was in the "draft Ceedee or Ruggs camp, then trade back at #31", but I'm definitely happy with our selections! With our coaching staff's ability to develop opportunities for our players' skillsets, I'm hoping for a seemless transition for both 1st round selections.
I love what Kinlaw said about why he wanted to play for us. The d-line unit plays in sync, they have a collective goal instead of going for individual accomplishments. That's exactly what the d-line has been preaching all season. He is gonna fit right in. He's gonna be nasty.

Add one of the T's to this and I'm in the same boat.

AddBrown too,I'm assuming he's gone at 13

Agreed - all of this. Just don't think there's a chance Brown will be there at 13 or for that matter one of the OTs I'd like, Thomas or Wirfs (probably zero chance of Wirfs at 13). My dream scenario for the Niners would be one of the following four sitting there at 13 and the team taking one: Brown, Kinlaw, Thomas, or Wirfs. Yet will any of those four still be there?

I really like what Kinlaw could do in the middle of this DL THIS year with the coaching from Kocurek and in playing on the same line as guys like Bosa, Armstead, Ford & Jones. I'm not saying at all he'd replace what Buckner gave this team - he won't right away but he can close the gap some and be a force in the middle head & shoulders above what the other options offer (Taylor, Thomas, Street, etc.). Kinlaw just has incredible talent & movement for a guy his size...and, the upside he has - we don't even know, especially when you consider the coaching he'd get on this team along with his seemingly strong work ethic. Just my opinion and to me, the trenches are just that important.

This team could get an excellent, playmaking WR with their next pick or soon thereafter...at 31, where you'd maybe get a quality guy like Pittman, or in the 2nd in trading out of 31. I know the big three WRs have separated themselves from the pack, yet by how much at the pro level as this draft is loaded at WR? And, I just don't see any of those three WRs as better value at 13 than what a guy like Kinlaw or Thomas would give you.

Just my opinion. I know a lot on this board want with the 1st pick one of those three WRs. I get it, especially considering the playmaking abilities they've shown. I just feel the value is too great in adding, if available, one of the DL or OL talents mentioned here.

Well said....especially as it was posted 10 days ago by LottDmontanaO

Lol man this kid is so raw and still dominating players. He is bull rushing players with his head down, this kid coached up is going to be a beast.

I liked Buckner. I really did, but I always felt he wasn't a natural pass rusher. Kinlaw looks like a top tier penetrating DT. He's a dog. Looks hungry and plays hungry. You can tell he has a mean streak. For some reason reminds me of an Aldon Smith from the inside ( playing style wise).

Buckner is still the man, we can't discredit our guys just because we can't pay them and they move on.

I love Buckner!

Buckner's swipe move is the best interior passrush move in the nfl IMO. He's so reliable and when you get to the big game you need DTs who can rush like him.

But Buckner was never a great fit in this 4-3 attacking style of defense. AA fits better because he can rush from the outside and play from the interior. Doesn't mean he's a better player tho.

Now we have Kinlaw. We can rotate him and Jones at the 1-3. I wouldn't say Kinlaw is the better prospect cause they both are really good players. But Kinlaw has a chance to be better because he's more active in chasing down plays and shooting gaps.

As a former DT I love great DT play. I'm very excited to see what this kid can do.
