Better pass rush

I think the team realizes that you cannot "fix" every problem in one off-season and that perhaps CB is not a strength in this draft. I think along with acknowledging these things, they also are hoping a few things together make the difference.
1. They see promise in both Spoon and T-Moore. This year as opposed to last, they will really be competing against each other to start. Not just handing the job like they did last offseason to Spoon.
2. Adding a high upside young vet in Verrett at minimum pushes these guys. If we get lucky, he stays healthy and we got a steal and a starter at any CB spot.
3. Improving the pass rush will speed up the decision making from opposing QB's. At worst, it's less time the CB's have to cover. At best, it creates errant throws that are a DB's best friend.
4. They hope some stability at the S spots helps communication.*
5. Hope that a second year for Warner helps communication
* I think 4 is the one spot they can address. Ward is a bridge, and hopefully the replacement comes this offseason. If not, at least it give Colbert some competition.

I would wait til next year.
At CB can Verrett stay healthy?
Can Spoon keep progressing?
Can Moore be a CB? We moving him back to FS?
Do we have a starting safety on our roster? Where can we play Tartt? Harris our SS?
I say this year focus on solidifying the defensive front 7. And weapons on offense (2 WRs & a TE2)
Next year we can focus on secondary and OLINE. This gives us a year to see if we have ANY quality DBs we can move forward with.
We cant fix all of this in one year. DL/WR/TE is deep this year tske advantage of it

With this said, if we trade down from 2 and a 3rd rounder is involved i would trade the 3rd rounder to Minny for one of Rhodes or Waynes
One or the other seems to be available via trade

Niners could add one FS and one boundary corner this year to compete with all the bodies they have accumulated in the past offseason and previous drafts. Other than that, starting with the pass rush and better weapons in the red zone is a good idea.

I don't think anything is wrong with our secondary other than youth and health. Many players are either still developing or had their development slowed because of injury. An improved pass rush will also do wonders for this unit.

I wouldn't mind any secondary players from 6th on.

Oversimplification in my opinion.. you get a good rookie like savage in round 3, hell yes. start him ,.savage is probably better than anyone we have now. do not let ward see the field, draft a corner late in the draft but really. after getting a elite rookie safety. we are back to hoping the new guy will be a play. hope sherman will be sherman and hope at least one of our corners on our team turns out to be a player,. i have no confidence in any safety we have, maybe look for a safety in free agency if you can find a decent one out there as the off season goes

There's no way Savage will be there in the third. In fact I think he could be gone at 36. I thought I saw that he had the most pre draft visits of any player so far?
Guy is rising like crazy.
I would start Colbert, backup Exum and that's about it. I don't think Moore will be that great Tbh.
