Went into the Bama LSU game liking Brumfield at guard. Left the game being amazed by Quinnen Williams. This might get me crucified here but....what if we pick 3rd or 4th (raiders, giants, arizona), Bosa is gone, and there are no trade back opportunities. Do we reach on a ER just to fill a need? I say we take best player available. I know I know, IDL in the first...AGAIN. But Armstead is walking, and Solly might net something in a trade. We can move Buck to big end, which will have him lined up like a 3-4 DE, and not at all a position he is inexperienced at. He can actually play the Bennet roll, and move inside in nickel, but Williams will be our three down 3T. Do we pass on potential Aaron Donald level production and game wrecking ability, just to reach on an ER? We can use our 2nd to get whoever is left out of Josh Allen, Montez Sweat, Brian Burns, Clellin Ferrell, and Jachai Polite, even if we need to trade up slightly. And then theres still later picks like Chase Winovich, and FA options. I have a feeling I know which posters will agree with me, and which will hate this idea, but what say you?!

I'm just so tried of having meh players. It's not a shock to me that we keep having injuries and the team still competes. We have a lot of players who belong in the NFL but we need impact starters.

I agree with that list but I'm still worried about a trade down with Lynch not having the best drafts so far. But we need to come away one of a few of Bosa, Williams, Allen, Burns, Polite, Metcalf.

Depends how far we move down...I don't see them moving out of the top 10.

I know I sound like such a bitter broken record, but I don't understand the Cardinals picking Bosa #1 instead of this guy.

They were top 5 in sacks and good at stopping the pass. Their run defense was bottom 1. They have Chandler Jones and they have a huge hole in the interior DL. Quinnen Williams is seen as good as, if not better than, Bosa as a prospect, and he doesn't even have the injury concern or lack of recent game tape.

Literally the only reason the Cardinals would take Bosa instead is because edge is more valuable as a position as interior DL. But that STILL doesn't make sense to me. That would be like having Phillip Rivers in his prime on your roster with no OL, and selecting Andrew Luck instead of Orlando Pace when both are on the board. It's dumb. I know I'm a 49ers fan who wants Bosa, but while trying to be as objective as possible, I see it as a dumb move.

But hey, I'm not a GM

As of today yes...Bosa is the prize (or a possible trade down) if those aren't possible gotta go with this guy.

Move AA in the off season, start Thomas at big end in base (rotating inside) and get a nickel rusher in FA or pray that a guy like Burns drops.

The assumption that Bosa goes to AZ is based on there being a gap between him and the rest of the field. If that gap disappears for QW, than I think AZ goes with QW based on their roster needs. I honestly don't believe Bosa's decision to shut it down & get surgery will play a role. jmho

I'm not saying any of that looks likely in December, but a lot can change between here & April. I saw someone (Ledyard?) on Draft Network talking about QW pushing Bosa for top prospect a week or two ago.

You can bet that Bosa's decision will be in the back of a GM's mind because he told the world that he's willing to miss games to secure future financial stability. You'd be crazy not to even ponder if this will happen again towards the end of his rookie contract. Not to mention Joey and his contract issues.

Nah, Thomas is younger cheaper an the upside is still there...If buck gets hurt we have a 3-tech that can rush the passer. AA is a 2 gapping 3-4 DE and needs to go to another team.
