It's also time to target a #1 WR that would strike fear to those opponents.

So far, the only 3 WRs on my list from last season that I remember very promising are..

AJ Brown of Ole Miss

Collin Johnson of Texas

and the enigmatic N'Keary Harry of Arizona State..

but it's early, so those guys my not even be the player that they were last year..

on the other hand, if we have no chance of drafting them, I say we make a trade for either JULIO or AJ (Bengals)

Caleb Wilson, TE
Deebo Samuel, WR
Juwan Johnson, WR
Webzone logic dictates we must count Street as part of our 2019 draft plan since he's out this year

For the first time in my life, I'm losing interest and not excited about 2019 draft ... we had 3 third rd picks and two 7th rd picks this year, decided to grab whole bunch of players who may end up on practice squad and then may get plucked by other teams without adding any draft capital for 2019. To make matters worse, we are without our 5th rd (Laken Tomlinson) for next year

But main thing is seeing how we drafted in 2018 just makes me not look forward to 2019 draft at all!

LOL complaining about a draft before a single player plays a game

But there were some GMs that thought Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russells would be the next line of great QBs... so please stop lying to yourself saying the GMs know best...
if you were to tell me Scott Mcloughlan thought someone would be great and traded up to get his guy, I would give him benefit of the doubt (he turned around 9ers, seahawks and helped redskins). but who are adam peters and John Lynch as talent evaluators? what have they done to deserve giving them a pass. great find on colbert, taylor and kittle last year and my hats off to them,

unlike some, I am not unhappy that we didnt draft a pass rushing DE... thats fine.. if they thought there were none that warranted picking up, its ok...
but I just dont like when we OVERVALUE Mcglinchey and Pettis and Kentavious... what i mean is if u were to ask not the webzone, but ALL scouts and talent evaluators, they all had way lower values when they were picked up.. I understand why they had to get mcglinchey.. thats fine.. i wont argue... but pettis was supposed to go 3rd rd (even he admitted he was shocked because he heard from most he would be third rd, maybe late 2nd at best), Kentavious was supposed to go 6th rd or later... are you really going to tell me that the ONLY WR that would fit shannys game plan in the whole draft was Pettis?? its like... if you really really like a house and they are asking for 1 million, would you just come out offer 2 million and be ok buying it while you are not a very rich person? I understand if you are a multi millionaire and thats ok.. but we have SO MANY holes on this team, and many places we could get better. dont have the luxury of just throwing aside picks

Well Peters has two SB rings working with the Patriots and one with the Denver Broncos. He helped acquire over 27 players that played a vital role in the SB 50 win for Denver. Do some reach before you complain

I love how you know where players are "suppose" to go in a draft LOL. IF you really knew that, well then you should be a GM or you should play the lottery. There's 31 other teams with different draft boards. Draft media is FAR from the end all be all on how players get evaluated and where they get drafted. There's a reason they're on TV and not making those calls for NFL clubs.

Who the s**t said Streets was a 6th rd pick? Peter King just did an article stating ATL/NO were hot for him in the 4th and there was no chance of him going that late. He was the definition of a "value" pick. He was a top 100 player without question and will be looked at as a 2019 rookie. People b***h about reaching a little for a WR that Kyle likes then complain because we got a value pick on day 3 smh.

I'm sorry I disagree with just about everything you said here and you honestly don't have anything to base it off of because they haven't in played yet. JUST because they didn't draft who you wanted doesn't make it wrong.

And for the love of god change the name of this thread to complaining about the 2018 draft because that's what it is.

Oh FWIW here's what your boy Scotty too hotty would have done with that 9th overall pick lol

I KNOW this much.... none of this year's draft show any promises and it will be PANIC MODE in the War Room next year... I expect the team to start making moves in both free agency and drafts..

this 2018 draft just isn't pretty because we drafted players who are similar to what we already have... and that's what I've said from the start.. the type of WRs we took, we already have..

so, it's really simple, look at the draft, and ask yourself, how can this class put our team above the Rams.... Saints... and Philly??

No offense man but you don't know anything about how this draft class will be, neither do I or anyone else on here.

We can have our OPINIONS but we don't know chit.

On paper this draft class looks very good at pass rushers and DT at least early on. Who knows where we'll be picking but I'm thinking mid-late teens/early 20s.

It doesn't look like a strong QB draft which is unfortunate because that's the only position who takes precedence over dominant edge rushers but anything can happen and some QBs can still make the climb up to the top and help push guys down to us.

The OT class next year also IMO is better than this year's class. That's another position that's valued with the struggles of the OLs in the NFL these days.

Who knows what we'll do and what the state of the team will be when the 2019 draft rolls around. On paper our biggest need is still edge rusher. On paper this draft will have some talented edge rushers who may be available at our first round pick or via trade up.
IMO the odds of us getting a proper edge rusher next year's draft is pretty good.

Some of these guys are sure things(well at least as far as going in the first round) and others may not even declare or not perform very well in the upcoming year and not sniff the first round. But these are the guys I'm keeping a close eye on next year. Listed in order of likely to go early in the draft IMO.

Nick Bosa, Rashan Gary, Clelin Ferrell, Josh Allen, Joe Jackson, Montez Sweat, Brian Burns, D'Andre Walker, Curtis Weaver

We should move up. I think we're in prime position to go and get your edge.

ok...
first off, please do your thinking with your brain and not your heart

i think we all have heard reports from most announcers/ analyst/ football experts and even respected members on this forum that the drop in talent from top 8 picks to #9 was HUUUGE! despite that, please read my comments that I SAID i do understand the need to go offensive tackle to protect your franchise QB. Nate Solder was not a great OT last year, but he got paid top $. it is what it is and I get it...

what i do have problems with is trading up for pettis while he was projected to go late second or third.. how do i know that?? because he SAID SO HIMSELF. if you are going to quote Mcloughlan, he even said he was not fan of Pettis. he was not even top ranked WR left on the board when we traded up for him. we even got robbed considerable value if you look at the trade chart. I highly believe this was not a Peters pick but Shanny pick... Just the same way he stood on the table for us to pick Joe Williams and Beathard. Pettis/ Beathard/Williams were all picked way above where they were supposed to be drafted. they all have one thing in common... shannahan wanted them bad. again.. I dont care if he wants certain players to fit his scheme and invests highly in what he desires.. it is OK, he is after all an offensive genius. But he can't be going all in on just one player and ignore other rounds and other draft able players.

and please.. dont tell me that since i am not a GM, I should not have an opinion. 20 years ago, yeah, your argument could hold water. but now, most fans who care could get coaches film and look at and study players and have good impression if someone will turn out to be good.. I know many respected posters on this forum wanted Alvin Kamara and carl lawson last year in 3rd/ 4th rounds but most GMs whiffed on this guys. so please dont give me that BS that GMs know better.

when we traded up and got Joshua Garnett and I was so angry, many were yelling at me at this forum because they were saying he is the OUTLAND trophy winner and he would change the position. If people are uninterested in hearing what some realistic fans like me have to say, please dont waste your time and effort replying to this post, just move on and post elsewhere/ another topic. I am not trying to complain about everything. I am excited by many things.. save this post for later if you want, but am really excited to see warner, DJ Reed and Richie James!! best value and best talents on this years draft for us!

Just because Pettis didn't think he would go early 2nd doesn't mean anything.

The Packers GM said Pettis was on their radar. That's just one team. Even if Jackson was their top target you have no idea what happens if we don't move up.

I don't care if people think he's a reach, I certainly don't care if he was surprised by the pick...all I care about is how well he plays for us.

Also this has nothing to do with next years draft...

Exactly which players will end up on the P-Squad? McGlinchey? No, Pettis? No, Warner? No, Moore? No, Street? No, NFI, Reed? No, Harris? Maybe, Taylor? Maybe, James? No

I see 6 of our 9 picks making it for sure, with Street being NFI'd, and Harris and Taylor being unknowns.

Also it takes two to tango, no every team will or wants to trade future picks.
Anyway on 2019, so many quality EDGE guys

Nick Bosa is a top 5 pick, I love Joseph Jackson, Rashan Gary, Montez Sweat, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Brian Burns, Zach Allen, Joshua Allen, and there are more out there for 2019.

Other spots like CB, you have Damon Arnette, Iman Marshall, Michael Jackson, Juan Thornhill, Adonis Alexander, Greedy Williams, Julian Love, Kendall Sheffield.

SAM LBs wise, TeVon Coney, Porter Gustin are two of my favs.

WR wise, Ahmmon Richards, N'Keal Harry, Jaylen Smith, Parris Campbell, Deebo Samuel, Trenton Irwin, Bryan Edwards, Collin Johnson, Jalen McCleskey, Felton Davis III

TE wise, Noah Fant, Tommy Sweeney
