I mean I would probably take Mack in a 100 yard race or a slam dunk contest but in the areas seen as most relevant for an edge rusher, Bosa is either right behind or slightly ahead.

Not hating Bosa but if you make the comparison it has to be brought up. Vertical, broad jump highlights explosion. Last time I checked that's a pretty good tool for a defensive end.

Having a 1.55 split also highlights explosiveness. There is good reason why the 3 cone and shuttle are emphasized for edge rushers. Its a terrific snapshot of that individuals ability to stop and go, change direction, body control and overall balance.

For what a pass rusher absolutely must be able to do, Bosa showed that he is plenty capable athletically.

Why are you guys wasting your time arguing with Grant's alt account?
I recall people getting pissed that we won the Seattle game cause that ruined our chance of getting bosa. Now there are people that dont want him just cause some other prospects jump higher and run faster?

Or a edge rusher to go along with a already dominant DT to keep a QB in the pocket...go look at Chicago

If the earth was round, you wouldn't be able to see boats on the horizon; If his last name wasn't Bosa, you wouldn't want him.

All space photos are CGI; All of Bosa's plays are against bad tackles.

We haven't returned to the moon since 1969 because we never went; Bosa didn't return to the field because he's a quitter.

All NASA astronauts are globalist shills; All draftniks are Bosa agent shills.

You sir.. have my vote for post of the year over me shhing Wu. This is by far my favorite post of 2019!

That's quite a non-existent line your drawing.
The one thing I disagree with Cohn on as it relates to Bosa is that if he can in fact bulk up some and develop into a Justin smith he's totally worth a #2...just too much depth currently on the inside for it to make sense... I just don't see that development happening tho..More of a finesse player, lacks the toughness to kick in. He will he just like his brother, a very good player, easily frustrated and marginalized by good qbs who step up in the pocket and get rid of the ball fast. Get his 10-12 sacks a year and get overpaid by a perennial losing team
A perennial losing team that just made the playoffs for example.

Bosa wont won't have more of an impact than any of those guys not because he isn't talented it's simply just not a position to spend a top 5 pick or top$$ on. We will trade out of #2 99.9%

If edge rusher is not a position to spend top money on, then why do elite edge rushers make more than elite linebackers and elite defensive backs?

Why do the very good to elite edge rushers they rarely if ever hit the open market in their prime?

Why is edge rusher widely considered a premium position and the most important outside of QB?

Because GMs are stupid. None of them are reading the Cohn Report. Edge rusher is just an afterthought to a good Defense. What is so hard to figure out about this?
