MadDog's Final Big 256 Board- Updated 4/26

To be honest, it is really hard to project Sweat in the NFL because he played way out of position at Florida State. He won't be putting his hand on the ground fighting multiple blockers in the NFL, that is for sure.

He's super athletic, but my guess will need a LOT of work to get rolling. I'd rather take a guy who is ready to play right away in Okoronkwo or Nwosu.

Done. Check the picks in bold for the full Niners draft...bear in mind it is a non-intentional projection

Whoa MD, you're way down on Hercules! What do you see?

Just like Sweat, played way out of position in college. Tough kid, but will need a TON of work. Really narrow frame, and simply not enough juice to get a high grade. His 9' broad jump is really poor, and that translates to a lack of athleticism at the next level.

All of that being said, I am cheering for the kid. All heart. What a great college player.
Smith, fitz, James or Landry for me.

Honestly I wish there was a RB or WR worth/available @ the 9 pick.

Fair enough, I think he needs to get himself the right scheme, but I think a team will pull the trigger earlier, he was a 3rd rounder before the combine, I don't think it'll drop him more than a round, maybe two.

He did some edge and has a chance there, he can probably find work at SAM in a scheme like ours or pretty much any LB spot in a 2 gap 3-4. I'd roll the dice in the 4th round.

We definitely agree on the last part. Cheers MD
You have Landry going to the Hawks.

Today...you have made me frown.

MadDog who is a better fit for the 49ers Derwin James or Minkah Fitzpatrick?

Fitzpatrick. Better range, better instincts, better player, more versatile. I wouldn't leave James in the back end of the defense.

MD, thanks for doing this. I'm looking at this portion of your big board:

44 Martinas Rankin Mississippi St OT
45 Orlando Brown Oklahoma OT
46 DJ Chark LSU WR
47 Josh Sweat Florida St DE
48 Mike Gesicki Penn St TE
49 Justin Reid Stanford S
50 Brian O'Neill Pittsburgh OT
51 Austin Corbett Nevada OG
52 Tyrell Crosby Oregon OT

Any of the bolded worthwhile trading up for? Is there one out of the four that really stand out as being a good fit for the 49ers? I really want to be proactive with finding an understudy for Staley/Brown. I wouldn't mind trading the 59th overall + a 2019 pick to nab a good OT prospect.

edit: meant to type "trading the 59th"

I wonder if we trade up from #59

None. The best of that group is probably Corbett.

I don't think so. More likely to trade down.

Yeah hope we trade down and get Landry or Davenport plus a pick or two.
