Are you serious with this?

When do you think we should've taken him?

That quote was nothing but coach speak for "we didn't draft any pass rushers this time so we'll hype up the guys we have until we can find someone to send them to the bench or out the door"

Clearly they're targeting this offseason to address that position.

It's hard, man....just woke up thinking about how bad we are at rushing QBs (again).... game is inching closer

I get it...I thought Landry was perfect for what we needed. Just hoping we finally get our guy this offseason. I'm thinking free agency & draft is the way to go.

No question it HAS to be addressed before next year.

Good thing there seems to be a lot of pass rushers available in both the draft and FA.

I get this point (not worth taking at #9) - what I don't get is completely neglecting the position on Day 2/3 when there were options far better than Cassius Marsh still on the board. Cassius Marsh was never even productive at the college level and in 4 years in the NFL he has produced less sacks than most starting NFL NT. He is a liability against the run and a total non-factor as a pass rusher. We literally have nothing to lose by cutting him and cycling low cost/high reward players at that spot.

Day 2
Harold Landry
Arden Key

Day 3
Josh Sweat
Obo Okoronkwo
Dorance Armstrong

I'm with you...I wanted Landry at #9 so I definitely would've LOVED him in the 2nd round.

But...

He went before our pick in the 2nd round. Do you take Key over Pettis or Warner? With everything that was going on with Foster at the time?

Would Armstrong be a better pick than Moore? We don't know right now.

I certainly would've rather we take Sweat or OO over Street at the time but right now can we say it was a mistake? Those guys have done as much as Street has. Though certainly Sweat and OO seem much better Leo fits than Street.

With what should be available in FA and in the draft we better have multiple new PR specialists on the team next year.

Feelings never changed on him. He seemed green and Landry was my guy. But Davenport is smart and had tremendous upside. And he was rapidly improving. Would look green at times in his final year in college then a couple months later was beating on seniors in the senior bowl. I would have completely understood if we took him at number 9. Just like I understood why we picked Glinch.

Idk what changed with saints draft strategy but they been killin it lately.

They cut half their draft class this year before Week 1. Last year they had a really good draft, this year they are pretty much all in on Davenport becoming a dominant edge rusher, including their 1st rounder next year.

They lost a 5th round safety and a 6th round cb . 3 are on the 53 man, and the last 2 are on the practice squad. I see nothing wrong . They have a solid roster so not everyone will make it.
