Josh Allen OLB/ILB/DE Kentucky

Thought he'd do better

Bosa's 10 yard split is absolutely top notch for an edge rusher. If he can do well in the agility drills, I don't see anyway that he isn't the pick at #2 if he's still on the board.

Hope he does as well as Joey in the 3 cone drill. Surprised by the 10 yard split since he looked neck and neck with Joey in the simulcam. Agree he doesn't need elite top end speed as long as his get off is elite.
I think what we're seeing is a guy who is ready now from day one ( Bosa) versus guys who may be better in 2 or 3 years with the right coaching. Judging from the athleticism I would say Bosa may be at or near his ceiling. He's more polished and obviously has learned from his brother. Sweat is a physical freak who doesn't always show it on the field and Allen is a better at coverage. Both have a big upside. It's going to come down to what the Niners are looking for at that position. Assuming all 3 are there when they pick they have to chose between ready now (Bosa) versatility (Allen) or huge upside (Sweat). And I didn't even include Gary. Don't forget they got a good look at Sweat when they coached him at the Senior Bowl which could influence their decision. If they traded back 4 or 5 spots with a team wanting a QB then they could probably still get him and pick up an extra pick. Lot's of guys available for later rounds including some speedy LB's.

People gotta realize he's doing these drills and is a soild 20+ lbs bigger than most of these LBers.

Imo he's looking pretty darn good today.

Wasnt baldinger criticizing his get off?
I would still pick Bosa but if he is gone there are still a lot of good edge guys available. At least 5 or 6 would easily be better than what we have. If Bosa is gone and they trade back a few spots I won't be too mad because the differences between the others is not that great.

What are you taking, the over or under? 👀

Josh Allen ran a 7.15 3-cone and 4.23 short shuttle.

Overall, I expected more from him. I'm slightly disappointed.

I did too. I still want him over bosa. It's just my gut he'll be better. PS I think this is why the combine is less important. Jerry rice would have had a terrible 40 time.

What was his 10 yard split vs Bosa?

Bosa: 1.55
Allen: 1.61

Bosa beat Allen in everything except for 40 time and broad jump.

Plain and simple I think Allen is better now, and will be better. All his knocks have been refuted. He gets only praise from olineman he's faced. But truth is Lynch can hit a home run in Allen or a double with bosa. Right now he has to be right, not a savior. He's gonna take the safe route.

Any significant size difference between the two?
