I think he's done well but not enough to put him at play for the #2 overall pick imo.

The 4.64 40 helps if it stands up. The broad was meh as was his length/hand size. Not terribly impressed by Bosa or Allen which is disappointing when we're picking at 2. QW has had a nice combine but I really hope we trade back.

4.64 for a 6ft5 260 pounds guy is impressive.

4.64 with a stud 10-yard split those are very good numbers

Bosa was never gonna test elite numbers same as his brother. Had a 1.51 split which is elite.

True. But if Bosa or QW are on the board, they're clearly the better prospects imo. Now, if the Niners trade back(to let's say the Raiders at 4) that's different.

The split is the only part of a defensive linemen's 40 that matters. If bosa is having to run 40 yards down field we have bigger issues then his long speed.Originally posted by NYniner85:Originally posted by eastcoast49ersfan:The 4.64 40 helps if it stands up. too many combine junkies. Don't see how a couple days of tests change all the analysis done on tape in the last three years. It's a tv event not much more.

It doesn't. Everyone is still gonna be around where they were pre combine. But still important.
Polite and Burns both put on weight. Burns obviously put on good weight. Looked electric out there. Polite looked fat and out of shape.
Sweat put on some ridiculous numbers, forcing everyone to take more notice of him.

And yet guys GMs and scouts flock to it and guys shoot ip draft boards and make millions each year based on combine performances.

Yup. You only get so much time with these players . Everything counts. Combine also shows you who was working their ass off after college to prep for it. Who showed up at exos and was prepping for weeks to months for this? Who came in unprepared? Red flags like foster at the combine are crucial.
Of course it's not fool proof. Solly was as prepared as you can be in these drills. So far in the nfl unfortunately he hasn't seemed prepared.
That 10-yard split is what I expected, tho.
