You can't look at it that way, in my opinion. You have to pick the best player available to help your team. If it's a D Linemen, then it's a D Lineman.
Sorry Giedi, you're way off base with this, you preach BPA, yet you also say we need to pick Landry. I guarantee you that he isn't BPA. He would be a (slight) reach due to a pass rushing need.
BPA also has to take into account the kind of system your defense plays. If you play a Vic Fangio defense, you want a bigger OLB/DE that can rush and is decent to good at stopping the runs. If you play the Saleh 4-3 under (which is essentially a nickel defense) you want a fast edge rusher who's only job is the rush the passer and really doesn't have to worry about the runs. Landry fits the billl better than a Marcus Davinport. As for a Chubb, I think, based on all the draft nerd's analysis - he really is an elite (at least for this class) pass rusher. He'll be good in a Saleh defense, and he'll be good in a Fangio defense. The reason (I think) certain players go higher in the draft vs others, is because those players have the talent/physique to play in *various* different systems and be great in all of them. Simple Demand and supply. Whereas a guy like Landry is only good in certain systems (Saleh's defense for example) and probably wouldn't fit in Wade or Fangio's defense.
