^ very good report. I don't like the Watt comparison just because they're so different physically but play wise I can definitely see it and agree I think he'll only get better once he gets in the NFL and they start coaching him up and he starts working against NFL linemen.
You can tell this guy wants to be one of the best. I want that type of player on this roster.

What the hell is going on here?
That's what you want as a team...to have so many good players that you have to worry about keeping them all. Look at the Patriots. When you get the right key pieces in place and you have a system which works you can plug in guys to keep the machine going.
Obviously Brady is a totally crazy situation not only because he's so damn good but also because he's married to Giselle and basically uses the Pats for his pocket change as she brings in the big bucks. Not a luxury many teams can have.
Still...having too much talent is the best problem to have. There's a reason we have this much cap space. There's a reason Cleveland has that much cap space.
No, the argument is if I already have Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones comes out the next year do you make that pick? You can't pay them both. The Lions did it 4 years straight but it's the f'n Lions and the receivers sucked anyways. Calvin was the only 1 who survived. NE would never draft Manning with Brady there so toss that out. Yes, you want as many great players as possible but not at 1 position. NY's made valid points that it's not unprecedented. The Giants stack up on the line. I know how valuable a pass rush is and with that I also know the Leo is going to be expensive, Buckner will command a top 5 DT salary. I see this as a tandem that's going to be hard to keep just like Staley, Iupati and Davis were. You can pay 2 once it gets to a 3rd person it gets pretty dicy.

no I don't want people to think he's a JJ Watt clone cause he's not...he's got that same 'it" factor though

No offense man but you need better analogies.
Arik Armstead is not Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones and he sure as sh*t isn't Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.
The other part of your bad analogy is the fact that only one QB plays at a time. Only one WR makes a catch at a time. Every defender is necessary to make the defense do its job.
And yes if Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones were on the same team together and the team didn't have a ton of other needs or salary cap restrictions they would keep both guys. That's what you do with your best players.
Armstead hasn't proven anything to make anyone say "we can't draft someone because we already have him"
Do you understand just how bad our defense was last year?

Solomon Thomas is an edge rusher who has the ability to be an effective interior DE. Look at his combine numbers, if he were 20 lbs lighter not a single person would question him being an edge he is just a physical freak and people have trouble labeling him because of that. He is literally perfect for us with both Armstead and Buckner being bad against the rush in that he can move inside on obvious run situations but otherwise be an edge.

You're the one who brought up the Brady analogy not me. I knew it was terrible and that's why I trashed it. Also having a Moss opens up space for Welker to work with. So if you did theoretically have Calvin and Julio who gets doubled? It's not as simple as saying only 1 wr can get the ball. The other wr can take away coverage allowing him to be more dominant. No cap I'd take them both any day.
Buckner is supposed to be Calvin not AA lol. The analogy fits because there's 2 starting wr's but it still wouldn't be wise to draft Julio if you have Calvin. And like I said NY has pointed out teams have built like that with some success but I'd still argue going for a complete team is the smarter play.

I just hope the player we take at 2 is the right one and don't pass up a future HOFer.

Yes it would be wise to draft a Julio if you have Calvin! As long as you don't have more important needs. There are stacked teams who have dominant wide receivers and still draft a wr in the first round because they hope they're picking the next great wr! And then they play with eachother for the five years and try to win championships then resign them, or decide to keep the more productive or younger one.
