Solomon Thomas--Stanford

Just the fact that Kyle went to this one and he brought his position coaches with him tell me there is a better chance today that we draft Solomon than before his pro day.

I hope that's the case but the location is too close to not check out these two guys.

Dude putting in work, you know he knows the 49ers are there and any Stanford player is probably a niner fan and wants to stay close to home

I wouldn't assume automatically that he's a 49ers fan, especially coming out of Texas but I'm guessing he'd probably love to stay in the area, especially with the new coaching staff and front office here now.

Anyone who has watched him play knows that to be true. But the naysayers will still disagree with our coach even.

Id have to imagine so but it is just down the road too. Stanford is a good team with some very talented players. Its a good place to pack up the troops and get a good look at all of the players and not just one or two.

Has Kyle been to any other pro-days?

I believe it's just been Lynch.

that alone should tell you they pretty serious about this pick and possibly mcaffrey as well in a trade up
Thomas can play anywhere on the d line. But he should be inside 90% of the time. He will be special inside, average outside. If we draft him.

The article about Shannahan on the main page just calls him an edge rusher. He's dline! Writer don't even know WTF he's talking about. He plays d line he's not a pass rushing specialist

Why would he need one, the "Guy" who's opinion matters the most just went to his pro day.

Armstead/Mitchell/Thomas/Buckner

This seems like a feasible and impactful front four to me. Feel free to re-order these four as you please -- in a "hybrid" defense few people have a true position. So the debate on where to play any one of these is somewhat moot. They'll move depending upon the play call.

Buckner/Mitchell/(Blair/Dial)/Thomas - Run Downs
Buckner/AA/Thomas/(Lynch/Tank/Harold) - Pass Downs

No need. Tape tells you everything you need to know about his game, and Lynch and Shaw are former teammates and close friends.

You can't put AA and Buckner on the same side in sub. Talk about having zero lateral speed on one side.

If I am a OC, guess what side I am scheming to attack with end arounds, zone reads, flys, sweeps, off-tackle runs, etc? The side with the two lumbering giants.
