Oh wait, no, they're both garbage because having long arms without technique and acumen is like having a huge peener but only being able to last one stroke.

Ha ha ha ha!!! Great stuff Hero!

Bunch of size queens on this forum.

I know the prevailing wisdom is you have to go BPA and not draft need. But with Pass Rushers so hard to find in the draft and Free Agency I just feel like we have to draft whichever one the organization feels like is the best. We have been sorely lacking a pass rusher and it is going to make a huge difference on our defense. Ever other position we can shore up later. But of we can get a guy in Landry (or Davenport) that can generate actual sacks (not pressures) then everything changes. And if it forces QBs to step up in the pocket, oh man Buckner and Solly are going to eat them alive. Either way I don't see how we can pass this year on a solid pass rusher. My vote is for Landry.

Of course last year I felt that you can't make the Seattle style defense work without a badass Safety and we should draft Jamal Adams. 49ers grabbed Solomon Thomas so what do I know.

I totally agree with all this.

John madden always said, the three positions you have to build around are QB, primary pass rusher, and LT.

To me once you have those three things then you can worry about BPA and all that. But until then, you have to do whatever it takes to shore up those positions.

And we are in a great spot to do that. We got QB sorted. We can get a pass rusher this year and a new LT to take over from Stanley next year.

Well, check the box on an LT (Staley hasn't retired yet), and check the box on a QB - I hear Jimmy's never lost a game in the NFL , only missing piece is that dang Edge LEO rusher guy.

Right, I mean it's not rocket science what Landry would bring to this team (with buck/solly).

If everyone's panties are in a bunch about big boards...then try to move down a couple spots and get him.

He played FS fine when he had to in this system...still think he's best suited for the SS role (with Colbert rocking FS).

I mean if that's all you got out of that clip, then your mind is already made up...which is fine. Take from it what you want

Funny thing is for people that say they like a player like Landry, just not at 9, if we move down and can get him while getting more picks then I am all for it.
But that presumes that 1. There are teams willing to trade with you. 2. The player you want/need is still there when you pick later

If you want a guy and its your pick, pick him. Who cares what the draft "experts" say about where he is supposed to be drafted. It all changes a year later anyway. Look aback at the articles that detail the history of the number 9 pick and the can't miss prospects chosen there. Not good.

Let's get our pass rush so we can get this defense off the field on 3rd down and get Jimmy back out on the field to do his thing!
