Really Mel Kiper..?

Trubisky is raw, only a 1yr starter at UNC

Watson has the experience out of the 5

Kaaya is inconsistent, plus I don't think he fits Chip's offense.

Kizer is is very raw, I think he's only started 1 full season

Barrett has experience, but also seems raw, which I know is contradicting myself, but I'd like to see him get more experience.

Personally I would wait till rd 2, and pick someone like Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk, or Patrick Mahomes.

I'd stay away from CJ Beathard, too slow, and Chad Kelly, torn ACL, and has off the field issues, plus he's been kicked off every football team that he was on before he went to Ole Miss.

Edit: And I wouldn't take any of these QBs at the top of the draft. My pick is Myles Garrett. I also wouldn't mind getting Takkarist McKinley or Mike Williams(He's come back strong from his neck injury last year). Look out for Houston OLB Steven Taylor, kid is a pass rush beast, and a sack machine, I have him as a 1st rd talent.

So you think Kiper is senile yet mostly agree with what he's saying. lol

Would you say Watson is a better prospect then rg3 was coming out?

Skinny, reckless college qbs aren't draftable.

I personally like Watson better..I think Watson has been in bigger games and played better..Abd honestly at the time RG3 was getting drafted I wasn't as focused on the draft and QB prospects bc the niners were great

Oklahoma State QB.

Sorry for the mistake

So why is the most prepared?
He does not turn the ball over which means that he make good decisions constantly.

He is one of the top 3 QBs with more 20+ yards pass attempts(actually 20+ yards through air attempts) and the second best with pct% in this category(52,2%).

Its quite amazing a guy try this ammount of deep passes and be intercepted so few(only 4 times)

Mason Rudolph has everthing: mind, arm, measures to succeed.

Like some scouts said " He is an hidden gem"

He runs a spread offense that helps increase those "stats" I'm not saying he can't become a good qb in the league, but people knock on guys like Watson for the same stuff.

He throws a lot of 50-50 balls up there and it looks like his WR tend to bail him out...he also looks like someone that just doesn't process info quickly and doesn't get the ball out quick (long throwing motion) I believe he was sacked 31 times this yr.

Trubisky or Watson IMO are much much better fits for us...I really like watching Trubisky think he's gonna be good.

I don't remember that one but I believe ya...most had him as a 2nd rd prospect.

He's up to 220 reported at 6-2 that's not skinny...Eli Manning is 6-4 and 218, Wilson is 5-11 206, Ryan is 6-4 217...he's more polished then RG3 was coming out of school.

What's reckless with his game? I'll take almost 10,000 passing yards 86 passing TDs vs 30 INTs in 36 games. Dude shows up in big games and leads that team I never saw RG3 doing anything remotely like that.

I just don't think he has the arm to make all the throws...I don't see the velocity needed in the NFL.

Should've gave Vernon Adams a shot if you wanted the ball to float to open windows. He can no doubt see the field but too many freebies against NFL defenses.

Manning and Ryan play from the pocket 100% of the time. Wilson is in total control, always, and plays with a low center of gravity, very rarely taking big hits. Watson is a reckless runner that makes a lot of big plays with his legs and on broken plays. NFL is too strong and too fast for his game. I imagine that's why kiper has him as a mid- rounder. Not to mention 30 ints in 36 college games **reckless** He has a hail mary's chance of becoming an NFL starter beyond 2-3 years.

So even in that system Watson can't meet the efficiency of Rudolph why Watson will be good and Rudolph will not?
Rudolph doesnt process info quickly and Watson with double digits INTs does?Watson whole college career was plagued by bad decisions leading to bad INTs.
This year was even worse.
So why the question again:

Why Watson will be better than Rudolph?

Trubinsky is another story.
The problem is that he is one year starter and need more development.

He is not the first one to say that recently. I don't care for Kiper or or his partner Todd but 1 person I trust ALOT is Greg Cosell. About a week ago Cosell said something very similar. He likes Trubisky in the mid first and Watson and Kiser as early 2nd rounders. But he said he figured teams would probably try to trade back into the late 1st to grab Watson or Kiser before a Cleveland or 49er team could grab them in the 2nd.

He didn't think that either Cleveland or SF would reach for a QB at 1 or 2. But did say Cleveland could target Trubisky with there second 1st round pick.

Mel Kiper is speaking of pure talent. But what he continues to underestimate is just how QB driven the NFL game is.

It seems that Watson is the most critiqued QB in this draft, and idk why..I can honestly see him being great in Kellys offense..
