QB or Garrett

In this league, you need a QB to win. People used to say, hey look at Denver blah, blah, blah, well as proven now they couldn't get passed the Raiders tonight. Is all about having a balanced roster on both sides of the ball. And in this case, the Broncos definitely and desperately needs a proper QB. Sure, Denver has Miller, etc, but they finally realized they just couldn't get it done even with such a top D unit alone.

Another example, just look at how the Cowboys are doing now with Dak Prescott. We even have a thread here trying to find out how the NFL has managed to miss on the guy. Again, to my point, you need a proper QB to win. For Dallas, that guy used to be Romo, but not anymore. Even the Browns, they have been very close in a few games, and again no QB. You didn't think RG3 was going to work out, did you? You don't think Sashi Brown is probably crapping in his pants right now having opted to hand over Carson Wentz to the Eagles on a silver platter and yet the Browns is yet to win a game? Again like I said, you need a QB to win in this league.

The debate is not about whether the likes of Watson or Trubisky is Myles Garrett. Is about the absolute need of a QB in any team (even when you already have a top D like Denver) in order to win ball games.

So you bring up 2 teams with qb's drafted in the 2nd and 3rd round to say we have to draft a qb with the 1st pick. Hmm.

By your logic shouldn't we be looking for the next Dak Prescott and using that top pick to build a beastly running attack or acquiring a great receiver? You can use Wenz but that other pick Goff ain't looking that hot right now.

The obvious choice is Garrett, should we be in position to take him. No QB is worth passing on Myles Garrett.

Until Jackson proves his not a run first QB no thanks. I'd rather trade for Jimmy G, draft mitch trubisky, take Watson, or grab one of Falk or Mahomes in the 2nd.

I really like Mitch Trubisky....I'd be more than happy with Garrett or Mitch with our 1st pick. IMO Garrett needs to be shut down because he's hurt.

You take the best player, and Garrett is easily the best player on the board. Andrew Luck is not in this draft.

Sorry bro, I am pretty much sure the Browns might beg you differ. Once again only the Cleveland Browns can cock it up by handing Carson Wentz away on a silver platter. If I was Sashi Brown, I would be crapping in my pants. And I am also pretty much sure that Carson Wentz wasn't the best player on the board.

Listen, you can't just go blind and draft BPA without context all the time.

There's no such thing as "blind BPA." There's just BPA because there isn't a QB in this draft who is head-and-shoulders better than anyone else.

Kizer will probably go #1 overall, but I'm starting to think Falk might even be better. There isn't one guy who stands out above the rest.

Garrett, on the other hand, is the best defensive prospect since 2011.

And I don't think Wentz is all that good. I'd take Garrett over Wentz.

Comparing them by position (Wentz vs. the field and Garrett vs. the field), yes Garrett is potentially better (remember, as talented as he is, he still has not played an NFL game yet). But the reality is in the NFL, a B+/- QB has more value to a franchise than a A + defensive player.

Well don't even know if Watson will be a c or any other qb in this draft. But we know Garrett is an a. Im not ready for 4 mores years of set back if we miss on a qb

I think Trubisky is a good prospect as well. But when a "generational" pass rusher comes along you don't pass on him for a good QB prospect.

There are MANY paths we can take to get a QB. There is only one path to get a generational pass rusher.
I'm hoping for Garrett.

We need at least one impact guy from this draft.

There isn't one 49er on offense or defense that other teams are worried about.

No Beckham, Alshon, no Brady, No Keukly, Not anyone of any stature.

A bunch of average guys.

That's what Bozo The Baalke has produced.

We really need an impact difference maker somewhere.

The Raiders have 2- 3 on offense Carr, Oseleme and Parker and Mack on defense that are changing their losing culture into a winner.

Other teams are doing the same.

Whoever is at the helm must draft a difference maker.

IMO - it's Garrett by a mile.

I think Garnett is the best player in the draft I wouldn't throw out generational pass rusher though. There's no safe pick in a draft and qb needs to be taken care of.

I'd love a Garnett and trade for Jimmy G scenario ultimately...there are some other very good pass rushers in this draft that people seem to be passing by because all the see is Myles and in intangibles.

People are talking about Garrett because he is without question the best pass rusher to come out since Von Miller. Some would even say he is a better prospect than Miller was at the time. Moreover, barring a trade down -- it's hard to envision a scenario where we will take anything else other than Garrett or a QB with a top 3 pick.

I agree that a Garrett/Garoppolo combination is ideal -- particularly if we do not have to give up our 2nd rounder. That means we would get an elite pass rusher, competent QB and an offensive playmaker with our first 3 picks. That's good offseason right there.
Garrett if we were a QB away to being relevant again I would say QB but we need players and play makers and Garrett is that

No I understand why he's talked about( he's a stud when healthy) I wouldn't compare him to Von Miller though there about 20-25 LB difference when they were in college. We saw what a team with a stud pass rusher and no qb can do last night vs a team with a franchise qb.

Remember when Jadeveon Clowney was the no brainer pick and a stud? Hasn't really worked out they way everyone thought.

I still would love Myles, but I think people need to look around at some of the other pass rushers in this draft because there are some very good prospects.

Unfortunately I think it's gonna cost us our 2nd for Jimmy G which I'm fine with if we don't go qb in the 1st. IMO he'd proabably be the top qb prospect in the draft this yr.
The way I look at it is...
if you can get Garrett, get Garrett and then look to take a QB like Mahomes or Falk later.

If you cant get Garrett, then you take Mitch Trubisky or Deshaun Watson and go for the best receiver, pass rusher or ILB in the 2nd round.
Defense.
s**t Kelly tore his ACL so I'm sure Baallke will draft him in the 3rd. I don't think we can Garrett unless we leapfrog Cleveland. I can see them rolling with Garrett and Kessler

I dont see Cleveland rolling with Kessler long term. They'll draft a QB but as they have two first rounders, it may not be with their first.
