Big IF....but no. He would get eaten alive if he had to start day one.

This. Sit him 100% of his rookie year and possibly some of his 2nd year.

We don't have to start him.

We will have a bridge QB and another back-up anyway I am sure.

The key is to make sure we sign a legit bridge QB who can win games such as a Hoyer for example, then we wouldn't be forced to start Trubisky unlike what happened to Jared Goff with the Rams.

He will play sometime during the season for sure. Bridge qbs are called that for a reason, cause theyre either not good enough to start for a long time, or too old. Either way, he will eventually play due to injury or the starter playing like crap.

Yup. The second playoffs are out of sight year 1 the owner walks in says give the keys to the rookie. No turning back. Mitch will have to be ready that's just how the league works now.

Yup. I understand why people want him to sit, but the best way to get better and gain experience is to actually play. This team currently is not projected to even sniff the playoffs, why not take the year to develop every young talent we have>

Philadelphia and Dallas had rookies start,,now they each have a year under their belts. Throw the rookie into the fire. Let him learn. Forget the "not sure if the Rookie can't handle it business"..Of course he can't handle it. Because he hasn't been through it. We are not going to the playoffs this year so give him the experience.
Our O ine is probably good enough to start a rookie behind. And it seems to be the direction NFL teams are moving in.

I don't really trust his evaluation when it comes to offensive guys. But I think he's pretty solid when it comes to defensive prospects.
Kizer has all the tools you'd want in a franchise quarterback, so it's not surprising to see that. Draft evaluators love traits more than anything else.

It's still early. All the draft analysts need to generate interest for their board/mock updates. That way, they can talk about prospect stock movement after the combine/pro days.
