Just too bad, I really thought he was a nice kid when he had Trubisky going to the 9ers at 2 in his mock draft 1.0.

McShay has us taking Watson now...

These guys are talking out of their asses now. I know it's their job, but they have no way of predicting who the niners get.

They are just trying to create talking points. If they stick with Trubisky from day one to the draft, people will lose interest.

There will be more mocks to come and they will probably get back in line with Trubisky.

But, the mock to look for is when Cousins get tagged and Garoppolo gets traded, that should shed a better light on how the chips are going to fall for all the QB-needy teams.

Yup, free agency too will drastically alter what positions teams will prioritize in the draft, especially the 1st round.

You're only years away if that's how you want to approach it. NO was just as bad as us if not worse brought in Brees, drafted a rb in the 1st and instantly made themselves a contender. People need to stop with the loser attitude.

The loser attitude is spending the #2 Overall on RB, as that means the team will not draft a starter at one of the QB/WR/pass rusher positions. You spend #2 on a RB when you have at least part of the offense figured out. Just spend the 2 of our last picks on RBs, not as if we'd know who is the backup behind Hyde.

That's now how it works. You constantly move players up and down throughout the draft process as you evaluate them. Right now he's dropping.

If the 49ers don't go Qb than take Mike Williams, I don't care about Mock Drafts from NFL NETWORK till a week before the draft. Casserly and Jeremiah just like to spice it up till a week before.
The MMQB's Albert Breer spoke with an AFC executive who said he would be "shocked if (UNC QB Mitch) Trubisky's not the first one off the board."

Another evaluator added that Trubisky will "ascend" as the process goes along, and teams like him in the top three area. Expect that conversation to dip a little at the NFL Combine, where Trubisky is expected to measure in around 6-foot-1. Josh Norris was told "it is what it is" by someone close to Trubisky when asked about the topic of height. The quarterback discussion might not be unanimous, but what is unanimous is the demand NFL teams have at the position. Four different passers could be ranked as the top quarterback.

I dunno.

Crazy s**t happens in every draft. It happens every single year. I can't even think of a year where the first round went anything close to planned. There are always surprise names in unexpected spots. And the truth is, we know absolutely nothing about what Lynch & Co. will want in their first draft.

"So here's the question: Are you have to comfortable taking an Andy Dalton or Teddy Bridgewater in the Top 5? The truth is, Trubisky's promise is in offering a team stability—but not necessarily superstardom—at the most important position."

Bridgewater was more ready to play than Trubisky, far more polished but lacked the arm strength, a better overall prospect. I think Trubisky has better physical talent than Dalton as well.

This is a comment from that article that meshes with how I feel about the QB's in this draft.

You'll hear this is a bad quarterback draft. I've heard that from some people, and that it's not as terrible as advertised from others. "It's a good quarterback class," said our NFC exec. "Realistically, all five of those guys go in the first two rounds."

If that happens, it wouldn't exactly be unprecedented, but that doesn't happen every year. There have been five occasions (2014, '12, '11, '07, '06) since 2000 where five quarterbacks went inside the first two rounds, and only one (2011) where the number was higher than that.

My thoughts as well. Not a bad QB class, just doesn't have that Andrew Luck prospect everybody is clamoring for. Those guys only come around once every several years, the rest of the time you're scouting guys who have some flaws to them, even the top guys.

Trubisky, Watson, Kizer, Mahomes, and Peterman all could go in the first 2 rounds. I'm confident in Shanahan's ability to pick and develop a QB for his offense.

I don't think the top guys are bad. Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes and Kizer are all QB's I can see having success in the NFL in the right situation.

Its a bad QB class on the backend, really bad, at least from where we are standing. Last year was a lot better once you got into the 3rd round and beyond. This year you have some truly heavily flawed mid and late round prospects, more than usual. The only guy that intrigues me is Peterman, maybe Kayaa who is talented but struggles under pressure and then you have Kelly who is a headcase and coming off a torn ACL, beyond that the rest are either complete projects, suffer from woeful accuracy, lack of physical ability....etc.

True, but after the first 2 or 3 rounds I almost completely ignore the backend of a QB class. Those guys almost never pan out, but there are exceptions. Last year you had Goff and Wentz as the Top 2 guys, then a significant drop off to Lynch, Hackenburg, Cook...etc.. Prescott was a mid-round gem.

I like the Top 5 guys in this class. My order of preference for the 49ers would be:

1. Trubisky
2. Watson
3. Peterman
4. Mahomes
5. Kizer

I would take Mahomes over Peterman just because the ceiling is so high. With a coach like Shanahan, if they were committed to giving the guy a year or two to simply sit, watch and develop, he could be very intriguing. He just has some truly elite ability and is a much more fluid athlete than Kaepernick was.

What will be crucial for Mahomes is his team interviews and how he does on the whiteboards, how well he can recall plays and quickly break them down.

Out of these games, which are against a good defense? I don't know college football so I'm looking for help. I watched the Georgia game (top20 defense) then realized that was his first start of the season.

Watch the Stanford tape. It was probably his worst game but he led them back and on the final drive his WRs dropped 2 or 3 passes in the end zone. He threw a TD but Solomon Thomas destroyed the 2pt try. It shows him at his worst, but he still plays a good game overall.

Another game to watch is VS Pitt. Ejuan Price is constantly in his face but Mitch showed great poise and had some pretty throws
