No s**t they were bad! Go look at who was IR we were rolling out third string LB/NT and had no pass rushers because Brooks blows, lynch was out, and Eli/tank are backups OH and because our DC has NEVER coached a good defense ever! Coaching matters.

AA and Balmer are similar players in the effort they give I think AA is our next Balmer pick. Mcgrew had the same issues, effort and situational awareness.

IR is an excuse, outside of the rams this D was bad before injury was an issue.

That's you opinion man...most GMs aren't gonna move on from a 23 yr old 1st rd pick with upside like his based off 700 snaps and a yr with a dislocated shoulder (which happened in training camp). I have no idea how you can compared a 320lb DT to a 290lb DE other than your reaching to try and prove you're point.

I wouldn't expect a defense full of young players learning a new defense with a s**t DC to play well...not sure why you'd think they would?

Go read some articles on JoN in Cleveland he was the same s**tty DC there.

How do you feel about Trubisky at 2?

I'm going to answer even though this question wasn't directed at me.
Personally I wouldn't like it, we are not set up for a QB to come in here and play well. We have a below average offensive line, one of the worst defenses in the league, hardly anyone who can catch a football, an often injured running back with journeymen as his backup....
Trubisky IMO is not the kind of QB that is going to turn this team around, we have bigger holes in other places we need to fill before we bring in a QB. Trubs isn't worth the 2nd pick

Let's do it!

I think the Browns will probably take him at 1, but if they don't then we should pounce.

Experience aside, he has every tool to be a great QB in the NFL. His athleticism is very underrated IMO, and his arm talent is undeniable.

Seems to be a soft spoken leader, which is ok. Pat Willis was the same when he came in to the league.

With any luck, we won't be drafting No.2 overall again, this will be our ONE and ONLY chance we have to really go for a top QB prospect without having to trade the entire farm away to get to the guy.

The team is barren now and will take a while to rebuild it. Be patient, don't panic and don't fall for the common mistake of trading down to go for quantity as opposed to quality. The key to success is to rebuild the team methodically starting with a nucleus of solid impact players instead of gambling on a bunch of scrubs who can't even get onto the 53, that was essentially what Baalke did.

To give a team any chance, first of all you must have a legit signal caller.

Don't bother gambling with mid-rounder QBs, unless we are drafting 2 x QBs to get us totally covered.

Stay focused. Remember the new motto Quality Over Quantity!! And we will get there in good time!!

Lynch didn't draft him. He has no reason to be loyal to any of these players that Baalke drafted. At this point everything is performance based and that reason alone is enough to question AA opportunities here.

Getting rid of young talent is what gets GMs fired.

If Kyle Shanahan deems him #2 pick worthy so be it. I trust his judgment.

If I had to bet the 49ers will trade down or go defense with the pick.

This gentlemen is a man after my own heart. Exactly how I feel.

Owners and franchises take chances on a qb. In hindsight, even in failure fans understand the need to snag a franchise qb. If Mitch is the real deal and our front office still sucks- we will still be playoff competitive! That's how important a legit qb is in this league. I have a feeling Kyle and lynch will agree to go for him assuming no one big is acquired in free agency. Maybe he sits for a year or two behind a veteran, but if they decide to draft him I'm fine with it.

Well, the way I look at it is like this:

1) By all accounts the Browns will be going after Jimmy Garoppolo in a big way. I can definitely see these reports being legit. Why? Because they want to sort out their QB situation before the draft whereby they can preserve their No.1 overall pick for Myles Garrett. There is just no way they will give up on Garrett.

2) Kirk Cousins (who wouldn't be my choice) will no doubt be franchise-tagged again. The Redskins just don't have a choice, they don't have another option.

3) That basically leaves the draft. And going by the latest reports on the kind of QB traits that Kyle is looking for i.e. more of the pocket passer natural thrower type, I have to say Trubisky is probably the guy that fits that mold best.

Like you said, I also believe Kyle and John will have no qualms whatsoever if they are convinced Trubisky is the guy then they will pull the trigger with no hesitation.
