Goff came from a similar offense and went #1 overall with the Rams giving up a crapload to get him.

If Falk can continue to improve, show NFL teams his ability to make NFL level throws, make proper pre-snap reads, not crumble under pressure then he'll go in the first and possibly top 10 just like Goff.

Connor Cook ran a pro style offense and look what that got him. Whether these guys run a spread offense or not it's about skills which translate to the NFL. Accuracy, good footwork & mechanics, pocket awareness & poise go a long way.

I remember when being a Jeff Tedford coached QB was the stamp of death...then came Aaron Rodgers.

Not all of the players are the same. This kid is rigorous about his approach to the position and hasn't had anything handed to him. I'd put money on him improving his draft position rather than being just another guy.

But again, you're wishing upon a star..

why wait for that to happen when we can FIX the problem now..

again, if we like players who are still there in the 2nd round, I'm all for trading our 1st next year in order to get those guys..

Imagine if we're able to land MYLES and NOAH with the 43rd and 45th, when we wont even know til next year what spot we gonna be on anyhow..

just like last year, I wanted us to move up when DE/DT Leonard Williams fell to the JETS...

would you NOW say that we are better off with BUCKNER because we didn't trade our 1st, or Williams woulda been the better player for us??

I agree with you. These guys guareenting us a top 10 pick next year. We could be picking in the 20s if we add Spence and Jack to our defense. What's the chances of us getting players better than those with our picks. Next year could be like 2012 the worst draft in history. We need guys that can turn into starters and probowlers. We have 2 the chances are low them 5th and 6th round picks are going to turn into all pros. We're not talking about trading multiple 1st round picks to get one player just getting a pick a year early.

Jack has major question marks regardless of him dunking a basketball. I like spence too but he has off field concerns.

Bethea is a starter, always good to keep depth and experience. Tank has not panned out yet, but it may be because he was misused. He might break out this year as a situational pass rusher at a light weight. A lesson to those who want to draft a player because of name and don't take into account scheme.

Patton, Devey, and Pears has warranted nothing for teams to want them and give a pick, not even a seventh on draft day. Maybe during TC just b-4 the season and only due to injuries and sudden retirements, like what happened to the niners last season.

The biggest thing is - there is no guarantee that the player you draft, even the first rounders will be any better than what you have of even pan out. Before everyone turned on Tank, Brandon Thomas and Martin, majority of the board here had high hopes and singing there praises, although those who are b***hing about them now won't admit it.

We all know that and that probably is the best option for the team. But if baalkes job is truly on the line he might trade next years picks, beacause he could care less what the next gm would have. If he used a first to get 2 seconds and aced the draft the 49ers and him would be fine. If he stays pat and we suck he might lose his job. But him on the hot seat is hearsay. Shoot if he turned 2 2nd round picks in and they both started, with our first two picks being starters. We would be in great shape, and he would save his job

I honestly would hope for the best if he trades first next year for 2 2nds, and drafts starters, and maybe a starter in the 3rd. I could care less about next years draft. If we hadd 4 starters to the team, and do well adding a few free agents with all the money we will have from carryover is a win win
