Sam Bradford had 9 1/2 inch hands not really "huge"

I think he was stuck with Bradford. Tried to add him as a leveraging piece to move up but it didn't work and he had to roll with it

It was a future 2nd so they kept their current 2nd last year to try and package that, their 1st and a healthy Bradford to move up. It didn't work.

It was a rumor nothing more... in real life they gave up a 4th in 2015 and a 2nd in 2016 for him and that's a fact. Chip traded a bigger QB a 4th and 2nd for smaller handed Bradford an a 5th who's more accurate plain an simple.

How is that rumor, that was essentially common knowledge up until the draft, any different than any rumor we have on our team regarding Kap? Fact of that matter is, where there is smoke there is fire and plenty of people, especially in the Philadelphia area, were talking about Bradford just being a bargaining chip. More so than people talking about the Browns and Texans having interest in Kap
. The "plan" fell through and he ended up with a starting QB that has the things he likes (quick release, accurate, somewhat athletic) for a 4th round pick and a future 2nd. Not a bad trade at all if he truly felt Foles wasn't the guy, regardless of his size. The only question mark was Bradford's health, not his talent or the qualities that Chip looks for.It was a gamble that didn't make or break him since Bradford actually played pretty well if not for the team leading the NFL in drops. Sometimes when you take a chance you come up short. I truly believe that is what happened in this case. He tried to gather as much as he could to entice a trade up but it just wasn't enough to get all the way to #2 as I'm sure the Titans wanted much more than that, particularly some future early picks and they weren't willing to leverage the farm.

Lol so they trade a QB a 2nd and a 4th to MAYBE trade all of that to move up to get Mariota?!
That is stretching it my friend...at the very least chip would have had to be content with the idea of have Bradford as his QB if they could pull the wool over the Titans eyes...I'm sure they would have loved to move Bradford for MM who wouldn't lol? But it's too bad this is reality an if a team wanted Bradford they could have just trade with the Rams to get him in the beginning.
People in Philly WANTED that to happen that's why it was talked about it was never really a viable option.

At best they move up to get MM, at worst Chip gets a QB that he would rather work with. Not sure why that is hard to believe? He obviously wasn't fond of Foles and the Rams weren't going to let Bradford go for just Foles and a 4th so Chip reached into the future to get a guy that he liked but would have no issues shipping off if TEN was fine with it. They can easily get that 2nd back with one trade. That is the chance people take when they want "their" guy.
Hell, Ditka traded their whole draft for Ricky Williams. Falcons essentially did too for Julio Jones. Baalke reportedly tried for OBJ but it wasn't enough. It happens. You put together your best package and take a shot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Bradford was still better than Sanchez and Foles so it wasn't much of a loss for Chip.

Your clearly not getting what I'm saying lol...in no way are they making all of those trades with the sole intention of ending up with MM. He wanted Bradford because he was the most accurate QB in college history and has a quick release, which is what his offense needs to run well. Would Chip have liked to trade Bradford and some other piece to get MM well ya I think that could be said for ANY GM with the same option. BUT to say the whole reason he brought Bradford in was to trade him is very far fetched...if an opportunity presented it's self to get MM I'm guessing he takes it, but I'm sure he was fine with Bradford as his QB regardless.
This all started with the quote that Chip loves "huge" hands lol and I stated he brought in Bradford who's hands are 9 1/2 inches smdh

It was a gamble, period. We are essentially saying the same thing in that he brought in a QB that he would be willing to work with. That doesn't excuse ALL of the rumors of him trying his hardest to grab Mariota. Just like we had pre-draft rumors of us taking Armstead if he was there and Browns/Texans having interest in Kap; it's just rumors but they typically don't form out of nowhere. We will never know if Bradford was truly "his guy" because he was fired and didn't have a chance to be there now trying to re-sign him or not. I would like to think if he was "his guy", he would have no issues making a move for him this offseason if Philly doesn't re-sign him, right?
And Goff does have the bare minimum when it comes to what teams look for in hand size. Bradford didn't have huge hands but he didn't have the bare minimum either

Edit: Bradford signed a 2-year deal today so luckily we won't have to find out if he was truly Chip's guy

I'd be REALLY surprised if the Texans want Kap. That offense asks a lot of the QB, and I'm not sure Kap's ready for that yet.

I think they just don't want Hoyer taking any snaps anymore so they will be linked to anybody that rarely turns the ball over lol

I think they're more likely to trade for Garrapolo. Dude's trained in a Belichick/McDaniels offense, which has to appeal to O'Brien. He's got talent, too, and he's got to want out of NE with Tommy's new deal.

I wouldn't mind us doing that but certainly not our 1st or 2nd. He is unproven so the best I'd do is a 3rd. No Matt Shaub deals.
Plus, didn't they try that already with Mallett?
