I'm not sure Alex was much of a reach..he had everything you want in a QB, the niners and all the OCs screwed him up..I think it was what 7 different systems in his 1st 8 seasons..who could succeed with that ?

Don't do it, don't turn it into an Alex Smith thread

Lol GARRETT plz be available at 2..!!! Allen or Trubisky goes 1st to the Browns please..!!!

Browns either take Trubisky or they tradeout of there with the Jets or Bears.

They got to sell the fans on something, either they continue stockpiling picks or we get a QBOTF

We'll get a QB that'll end up just like Alex Smith and a QB drafted later to a better team will be a hall of famer and everyone will say we picked the wrong QB but really we just set our QB up to fail because young QB's need a lot of talent around them to thrive.

But yeah, great idea. If Garrett isn't there let's draft a QB.

They have Jamie Collins too so i dont think there going pass rush with the #1...there taking a qb lets stop bsing...watson or trubisky it is...they need a face of the franchise

They are playing Jamie Collins at OLB not DE.

I know Collins is a olb...what i meant was they don't need a pass rusher like Garrett with the first pick because they have a couple pass rushers like ogbah and collins..they need a qb

Would laugh if Kelly picks a QB with Garrett on the board.

Or we could of just picked Aaron Rodgers.

Look man, I don't care about being right or wrong. I'd love to be wrong on this. I don't think I am anymore than you think you are. I really do hope you're right if they draft a QB. We're all 49er fans here.

Aaron Rodgers would likely not have survived the 49ers of that time period and we might actually be wishing we'd have drafted Alex smith. Lol You actually reiterated my exact point above.

We're in the same boat...If Garrett dominates the predraft he's going #1 no matter who is making the pick.

Nope. How often does a QB not go first overall? Trubisky is a great prospect, and great QB prospects will always go ahead of anyone else.

But, the Browns has a second 1st round pick from the Eagles, they can use that to take a franchise QB. Even if they can't land Trubisky, they can still land a top QB prospect.

People overstate that. Smith worked with 2 A+ coordinators his first 2 years and was developing fine but then a bad oc and an injury derailed him. Rodgers was more pro ready and a much better qb and would be more than fine here.

Worse case scenario is he develops ok we realize Nolan is an idiot and hire an offensive guy to have him flourish. You're crazy if you think Shaun Hill and JT O'Sullivan would be starting over Aaron Rodgers. It sucks that it happened to Alex because he deserved better too but he came in younger from a gimmick college offense.

Niners, Browns, Jets need a QB. Who's the 4th top QB?
