As long as the 49ers don't f**k it up with any meaningless late season wins and the Browns don't f**k it up by passing on a QB.

I could see the Niners winning one more game but thats it. I feel pretty confident they will get the 2nd pick. I really believe it will come down to how much Cleveland loves Trubisky. If they love the kid they will take him and Garrett will fall to us. If they are not 100% convinced he is a franchise QB then I believe they will grab Garrett.

I also think Cleveland will take into account how much stronger the DT/Edge Rusher class this year is than QB. I think they almost have to go QB #1, then they can go after Harris, Williams, McKinley, etc with their second 1st rounder or even at the top of Round 2 perhaps. Maybe they go Trubisky / Mike Williams in the 1st, and McKinley (if he's there), Taco Charlton (also starting to get 1st round hype, though), or someone else that drops at the top of 2? That would be a strong draft for them, I think.

I mean, if they pass on Trubisky at #1 and take Garrett, and we grab "Mr. Biscuit", they are left with Watson and/or Kizer probably (but even then the Bears and/or Jets might take one or both of them). If the top 3 are gone, this draft really drops off in QB talent, though Rudolph is garnering 1st round talk now (well, maybe not after the BIG XII Championship!).

One team the 49ers have to really worry about is Jacksonville, they're set at QB and DB, Trubisky and Peppers are out. The only thing left they don't really have is a dominant DE or OLB. And I don't see these scrubs winning another game, 49ers please do not screw this one up!!

Im not sure yet, I think Garrett is a good prospect but was just surprised by his low sack totals.

He was playing on a messed up ankle for much of the season. I'm not positive but that they may have something to do with it. Even on one leg he was still drawing double teams.

The fact that he has 8.5 sacks and 15.0 tackles for a loss despite playing hurt most of the year and having limited stats (only 3rd downs) in a couple games facing double teams is kinda nuts.

One of my friends who is a Browns fan was arguing that the Browns would take Allen over Garrett at #1 pointing to Garrett's production until I pointed this out. Collins is their only really good linebacker and can play either ILB or OLB. Unless they're really high on Ogbah and Nate Orchard (would be surprising coming off a torn ACL) or one of the QBs, Garrett is the obvious choice.

Calling Jonathan Allen the next Aaron Donald is a little ridiculous. Some people are listing that as his NFL comp, but his stats are nowhere near Donald's and he isn't going to run a 4.68 at the combine. Not every undersized DT with athleticism is Aaron Donald. Donald had 28.5 tackles for loss in 13 games his senior year and moved like a linebacker in the combine drills. Allen has 13.0 tackles for loss through 13 games this year. I think MadDog is right on this and Allen is going to be drafted in the 6-10 range.

They could roll Allen...they have Flower and Ngakoue has been balling this yr as a rookie.

They need ILB help so I wouldn't be surprised if they reached for Foster..

Foster just won the Butkus award.
I would give my left nut for this draft.

Yeah foster is a top 15 pick not gonna happen...would be nice though.

I think Webb will go later than the 3rd as well he's pretty raw, gonna have to switch fields with Webb

This one of those mock simulators?

Yep, fanspeak.
I have a fear that this team is so desparate for a QB that they'll reach for one with the #1 overall pick, like they did with Alex Smith.

The dropoff from Trubisky to Watson or Kizer who could be there for the Browns' 2nd first round pick is pretty small (it's a matter of preference). If all 3 are gone, there are other options like Mahomes, Rudolph, Falk, and Webb. The dropoff from Garrett to whoever the best edge rusher will be for their second pick (Tim Williams?) is massive. There are QBs like Trubisky available every draft. Garrett could be the best defensive prospect since Von Miller and may be better than that.

We really need the Browns to win one game.

I'm not sure Alex was much of a reach..he had everything you want in a QB, the niners and all the OCs screwed him up..I think it was what 7 different systems in his 1st 8 seasons..who could succeed with that ?

Don't do it, don't turn it into an Alex Smith thread
