If he can play on the field I have no issue with a "brand" player this is the NFL and that's what a player wants. JJ watt is a brand, Cam is a brand, Gronk is a brand.

VD is a brand

So is JJ watt, Tom Brady, OBJ, manning etc
With 10+ picks, don't think trading back should be a huge consideration for the first three rounds.
any prospects playing today?

Our DL is absolutely horrible. Dial might stick because there is no way to draft or sign enough replacements on the DL. Ian Williams and Armstead are safe. Dial is probably the safest of the needs to be replaced group.

I agree however, I don't see us using many top draft choices on DL this year. Too many other positions need to be addressed. Our OL and LB corps need the most love and we could use a shot in the arm at QB and WR.

I'd say yes with rounds 2 and back. We should stay put with our first pick and grab one of the tackles. Goff or LB Smith.

I think everyone values that but play on he field is just as important...also it depends on the postion IMO. Qbs have a different standard they are held at compared to the rest of the players. I'd like my DBs to have a little trash talkin in them like Josh Norman. I like a little swag, you ever listen to JJ watt mic'd up? You can have leadership and still have a brand.

J.J. earned his "brand". In college he was a lot more like Scooby than Smith. Wright exhibits better leadership qualities than Watt, already. That's how impressive he is. If the 9ers had Wright running the defense and Gabbert running the offense, I think they'd have the two best leaders in the game at their respective positions.

Scooby is ripping it up in New Mexico Bowl. 10 tackles and a sack in the first half. After missing nearly the entire season.

There are different kind of leaders some lead by talking (Ray Lewis) some lead by example (Marcus Lattimore in my opinion one of the greatest leaders to ever play football)

Well ya I don't want someone running around trying to brand himself with out doing anything. I don't want a RG3...who are you claiming is trying to brand themself before doing anything in the NFL first?

I think they all do it by "talking", but some can use very few words to get the same effect. That is the way Wright strikes me.

He played very well today a little gassed out but that is expected with being out for a while...I wouldn't hate him in the 2nd or 3rd

Staley/Nke in the first and Scooby in the second

We got options that's for sure! I think some people might jump of the Golden Gate Bridge if goff isn't the pick though lol.

FA is gonna dictate a lot of what will happen in the draft.
My problem with Goff is that if we get him then in my opinion we would have to focus on really building around him so he doesn't get shell shocked. So it would be Goff, OT/OG, OL/DL. And we would end up waiting until later rounds til addressing our Defense. Not saying it's a horrible idea I just like the defensive players more than the offensive players in this draft. As long as we don't draft a WR in the first I'll be happy tbh
