I agree however, I don't see us using many top draft choices on DL this year. Too many other positions need to be addressed. Our OL and LB corps need the most love and we could use a shot in the arm at QB and WR.

Disagree--our dline needs help also. Both lines need to be vastly improved (draft or free agency) if this team is going to be better.
I think the first pick will almost certainly be used at the cornerback position. Jalen Ramsey or Vernon Hargreaves if they don't trade back in the draft. The team is rotating a bunch of patchwork scrubs there at the moment. Unless they sign a couple of capable corners in free agency, but that seems unlikely.

I would hope they would go top rated O-Lineman left (Tunsil or Stanley) if neither are available then Smith. If none are available then trade down and hope to get a good ransom for the trade.

I'm not as down on the O line as some. Boone and A. Davis could return, Kilgore should be better next season, and they used fairly high picks on Marcus Martin and Brandon Thomas recently. Plus I think Trent Brown could be a sleeper. That would give them four vets and three young players to rotate among the five positions. Andrew Tiller looks passable as a fill in as well. At corner they have only Brock, who has very few starts in his career, and a bunch of late round/UDFA types. It's too important a position to patch with glue and paper.

Team hasn't had a lot of success with athletes, though. Okoye, Hayne, Ellington, etc. None of them seemed to progress.

It takes creativity to figure out how to correctly use an athlete as well as some daring. We have neither.
