If we take one in the first this year it will tell you that it is Kelly's guy or a guy Kelly believes in.
What I mean by history is Baalke has selected defense in the 1st round 4 out of the 5 past drafts. I realize the need for QB but I have a hunch Baalke will feel they can still compete by drafting a QB in later rounds. That's all I'm saying.
With Carson Wentz shooting up draft boards, this only helps our positioning for a solid QB. Goff or Wentz.

What Baalke does will also largely depend on Kelly. If Kelly says he wants his own QB and wants a guy that will be available when they pick in the 1st, I doubt that Baalke will be like "how about no?"

I'm all for a face of the franchise guy. Long term, I don't think Kaepernick can be Kelly's guy. He's never been known to have touch, make quick decisions and be accurate with short throws. A stable in a Chip Kelly offense.

I want Goff or Connor Cook.
Or both if Cook drops far enough.
We at least we agree on Goff
I'd take a flyer on Cook if its after the 4th round, but not before that.

I like Wentz. I don't think he'll last till the 3rd round. Has some mobility.
Goff has an elongate throwing motion. Not that bad, looks a bit weird. He pulls it back a little further than normal.
Talent wise they are all pretty close. Just have to develop them right mentally and teach smart decision making in the NFL. Generally pretty tough to evaluate the mental part of these guys in the NFL.

You can tell I don't follow these draft/value picks.
Where is he projected to be drafted? I just heard from Kiper that he's 2nd or 3rd round, but that could have been out dated.

Damn.
I knew nothing about him. Just saw some Youtube highlights few minutes ago. He does look good on his throws. Early first round doe... qb starve draft might have something to do with it. In a strong qb draft class he would be an early 2nd rounder.

Can he rise to number 2 and give us a chance at Goff?

He's going to be a top 10 pick. Chance he goes before we pick at 7.
I still want to go defense but I won't complain if we end up picking a franchise QB

Not convinced on Goff, yet. At least not at the 7th pick of the draft. Hate for use to like Cleveland, always drafting QB and missing.
Cook like garbage in the bowl game.
