After two days in Mobile, I'll say this about North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz: Opinion among top evaluators on him is divided.

You know I have Wentz as my 3rd rated QB, and honestly I like him more than Goff and Lynch, and I'm tempted to rank him #1 over them on my QB rankings.
What does everyone think, am I nuts if I did that?

They're all going to be system specific.

This guy will be over drafted and will be an epic bust. I have no doubt in my mind about this.

Its good to hear such a well-informed opinion from a guy who's admitted that he doesn't watch college football.

Why Alex Smith is a bust? IMO he isn't elite but he is having a pretty solid carrer.

This. I don't consider him a bust, if the 49ers back then had more talent and stability, he could have become successful a lot sooner. He was showing real improvement with Norv at OC and then Norv went to the Chargers and that was that.

Every QB that was supposed to replace Alex has been replaced/benched/failed. Waiting to see if Kap is the combo breaker.

One half of evaluators blowing smoke one way, the other half blowing it right back.

Pretty much. I do buy that there will be teams that aren't thrilled with Carson. As I've said many times before, he needs to be able to develop, his footwork especially needs a lot of improvement. He'd be best suited for a team that can let him sit for a year, learn the system, take it all in, get up to speed to the NFL game but all it takes is for one team really early to fall in love with the guy and off we go.

Apparently you must have missed my pre draft analysis on Marcus Peters as well as my analysis on Cam Newton.
