If you want a good laugh, go read this draft that has us drafting McCaffrey at #2 and Fournette dropping out of the first round.

I was never really on the "PFF is b******t" bandwagon but I think I've just hopped aboard.

Still don't think we should draft him at 2 but this just cracks me up.

Hilarious. Gets hammered in the comments section.

Fournette drops out of the first
We take McCaffrey at 2
Watson goes to the Jags at 4
Ross at 5
Thomas drops to 17

That's just what i could remember.

^ thats for you NY

I think you need to practice what you preach my man

"To rebuild a football team you draft the BPA period" that's what you said....so if a OG or C is BPA at two that's honestly who you'd draft?? If that's true I really can't take anything you say seriously on here. You're clearly blinded by a flashy name or want the sexy pick regardless if it actually makes us that much better.

MJD was on NFL radio yesterday and laughed an the notion of SF or the Jags taking a RB that high...no OL no RB period. Our "star" would get stuff at the line all day an would be a f**king waste, 28th ranked overall OL last yr. Hyde was 6th in the league in DYAR and we had the 32nd ranked run-blocking OL. Hyde was far from the problem last yr just needs another COP back to take a couple touches from him.

The RB position is too dependent of other things like scheme, QB, OL etc...go look at the Rams if you need proof, put Gurley behind that Dallas line and he's doing what Zeke is doing.

Yes please let's draft a RB that has stiff hips, can't catch, doesn't have burst, and is taylor made for a gap blocking power scheme. You can't just pop in players anywhere just because you like that player....Demarco Murray is another perfect example. He's a gap blocking power runner and sucked a big ol' dick in chip's ZBS in philly. I think LF is a good RB, but IMO he's not a ideal fit for this scheme. He'd better be f**king flawless and a a perfect match for Kyle's offense if you're drafting a RB at 2...which he isn't.

There's probably about 6 different RBs that are a better fit for Kyle's system that wouldn't require us to burn a top 2 pick...are they gonna be the sexy pick or have the star power of Fournette probably not. Will Shanny be able to turn yet another mid-level RB into a 1,000 yard rusher like his father and him have been doing for 20+ yrs? I would say it's highly likely.

IF LF is the pick I'll support it an IF he runs for 1,500+ yards and takes us to the SB I'll be more than happy and eat a big pile of crow....gladly.

BUT if we stick with Hyde he has a career yr and the mid-level RB we draft shows that he can be a very good RB, I'll be expecting the same from you

The guy who did it clearly says he deviated wildly from the big board he was using and he did it from the perspective of what HE would do.

And: "If you have an old-school, run-first mentality about the NFL, then chances are you'll disagree with many of my selections."
When Fournette is tearing it up, he might need to revise his opinion.

I think Fournette is as much of sure thing as anyone in this draft. We won't know until he actually plays but that's true for all of them.
all of these people hating on leonard fournette on this forum he is gonna make you eat your words . leonard fournette will be the next great rb and all of these idiots are gonna look ridiculous ! I don't care what anybody says leonard fournette will nominate in the nfl if he stays healthy !

Who do you think he'll choose?

Wasn't Fournette injuried this past season? His backup took right over and did basically the same thing?

Yeah we need RB depth but this draft is chalk full of gear talent...I suggest you check it out. This sounds like buzz talking

No OL no stud RB

I think he's simply nitpicking, rightfully so cause that's a MASSIVE decision to take Fournette at #2 when Kyle got a former 6th round pick in Alfred Morris to hit 1600 effing yards. The highest back taken when a Shanahan was on the team has to be Tatum Bell/Clinton Portis right? both second rounders.

The thought of Fournette does sound bad ass and we could make it work IMO easily.

And my response to people always saying that the Shannahans make something of nothing with RB's....Yes they do. But what could they do with an actual top flight talent at RB?

What could they have done with Adrian Peterson in his prime? I would imagine Adrian Petersons numbers would have been inflated with Shanny as his coach.

Yes system is a thing, but as shanny said himself, outside of QB's and OL, it not as important. Definitely not as important as talent.

If he had Fournette he'd get like 1800 yards out of him over 1600 from Morris. Not worth it when you consider all the high level prospects our defense needs so damn bad.

Excellent point. When people say imagine how Shanahan would do with an elite running back, as if we are going to like the pro version of the 1990s Nebraska Cornhuskers with Fournette. We had a historically bad defense last year and have a chance to get an elite defensive player.
