No, he went 20th to Philly.

This draft has really beaten you up. You haven't quite been your best the last two days, man. Hopefully you can get some sleep when this is all wrapped up.
Total boom or bust draft here. Armstead, Tartt, Harold, Bell, Davis, Smelter Is there one "safe" pick? Maybe Davis? All have big potential.

Does Smelter project to be better than Patton and Ellington? I'm not too familiar with this guy.

Bit of a reach due to injury but he was a three sport star in HS and played Pro Baseball until he hurt his shoulder. I like the pick as he's the strong WR I have hoped they would add. He should help in the RZ and replace Boldin when he retires. Hope they put him on IR this coming year so Ellington and Patton get a real shot at reps.

Known to be a very smart guy, hard worker, great football IQ...good pick!

Not sure about Davis as he has had some fumbling issues at the worst of times...but perhaps they can work on that while he backs up Hyde, Bush and Hunter.
only thing that sucks is that I'm completely out of OL I like as a potential swing tackle.

If that's my biggest worry, it's a pretty damn good draft.
I still see us taking a small school or high potential cb yet... possibly an ilb and maybe a qb. possibly another DE too to battle Ramsey/Okoye/TJE for the last spot. A 3rd tackle or another guard to compete for LG and then RG next year.

More like I didn't set myself up for disappointment by being convinced that a run-first team is going to go nuts taking a bunch of WR's early on in the draft. If people have unrealistic expectations of what sort of system this team is going to run, that's on them.

I've said for months now that defense, particularly the front seven was going to be a priority, because it was clear that is where this the team's strengths need to be in this system. People who lied to themselves and thought that the 49ers were going to go WR, WR, and WR, should have paid better attention to what Baalke and Tomsula and the rest were saying.
Tomsula also said he was fine with the DL. Baalke said that Justin's decision on retiring wasn't relevant to who they'd pick. I didn't want WR, WR, WR. But so far the team hasn' t picked a WR who will likely play this year. Some of us hoped the team would be more likely to have a winning record next season. Do you remember the losses to the Rams and Raiders?

When S. Johnson and B. Lloyd were signed, webzoners celebrated. I pointed out that the team had gotten no better with them, because they didn't improve the quality of the starters. T. Smith is barely if at all an improvement over Crabtree. Again, I point out that these draft picks and acquisitions so far do not improve the chances of the team to have a winning record.

This draft had about 12 can't miss guys and a whole bunch of maybe. Read several pundits who believed the last chance for the niners to get a sure thing was Parker, drafted just ahead of them in round one.

I agree there is quite a bit to worry about but isn't that what we do best?

since he's already hurt, they can put him on a list before TC, so he can return late in the season if rehab goes well. Ellington and Patton should have showed their stuff by then.

Would you take three misses for two All-pros?

No, I meant down the road. My point was to give Patton and Ellington a clear field for some evaluation this year. So far they just haven't seen the field enough.
