Unfortunately, I got some more prospects on the list

Any thoughts about:
-WR Chris Harper, California
-WR DeAndre Smelter, Georgia Tech
-WR Jake Kumerow, Wisconsin-Whitewater
-WR Addison Richards, Regina
-DE Ray Drew, Georgia
I would appreciate any info because these guys are so low-round that they are certainly not very interesting for you :)

I'll start with the last guy on your list first. Drew is a tough, solidly built 34 DE prospect. Just watched him war against Shaq Mason of GT this morning and it was an epic battle, He won some and lost others to an excellent run blocker. Georgia rotated DL often, but when he is in, very active, violent player. Kind of in that same grouping of 5th round-6th round cluster of C. Covington of Rice and Darius Philon of Arkansas. Good value pick late in the draft.

Waller gets all of the attention at WR at GT, but Smelter is seemingly the guy that is looked upon to move the chains. Reliable underneath WR who is smart. Probably 50-50 he gets drafted, but maybe a guy who sneaks onto the field in certain packages because he is a smart football player.

Kumerow is a long and lean player. Honestly have seen very little on him at this point, which will change. Had a very good pro day. Not super high on Harper. In a pretty loaded WR class, I have him undrafted.

Mad, why do you have Mariota dropping so much?

I like him, but don't think he will be anything more than a mid-level QB in the league, max ceiling. Not high on any QB in this draft.

Of course, the irony of the Gregory situation is that if he drops below other pass rushers he will likely end up on a better team. He'll be in a slightly lower pay scale, but as MD said about Beasley, someone will take him because of the need for rushers.

MD - which positions are deeper in this draft, in your opinion? For example, I think some teams stay away from Gurley because of RB depth as much as his injury. If we are at 15, with no trade offers, which positions should we consider, because we won't get them later, and which can we leave for later rounds?

Admittedly, I think most of our needs can be covered in later rounds, but that depends on what is seen as a need. (I'm thinking starting ILB, another good DB option, a potential Boldin replacement, backup QB, a swing OT, another RB option.) I realise I'm in the minority in agreeing we are deep enough on d-line. (What Tomsula said.)

WR class is outstanding. Edge rushers and 34 NT and DEs are plenty. RB group is terrific.

We need to draft studs, period. It doesn't matter which order, so sticking to the board is key.

What do you think MadDog, how far will Gregory drop due to his failed drug test at the combibe?

Good news bad news on Gregory. Good news is he keeps stacking on weight. He is at 243 now. Bad news- pot smokers get linked to guys like Josh Gordon. Gordon not playing. In a deep field of edge rushers, this may push him below Bud Dupree. I can see Gregory fall to the late teens-early twenties. Still see him gone before then. To me, this pushes him out of the top ten.

It definitely bumps him out of the top 10 for me as well for a number of reasons. Gregory is good but he does not have Aldon Smith type of ability where it really causes you to pause before discarding him. Further, a positive pot test DURING the most important off-season of this man's professional life (to date) and the guy can't keep it together. This shows a lack of focus that, while it does not in and of itself invoke memories of Ryan Leaf, is particularly worrisome for an NFL team wanting to invest a top 10 draft pick on the guy.

MD !!!

Got to get your input on this one... I was very impressed.

Rutgers' SR. backer Kevin Snyder... 6' 3" - 238 lbs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CzcxllStSA <--------------------------------------------------------------

"It's awesome," Snyder said. "I keep telling people, 'I feel like I'm in high school again.' Up through college, I was battling sore knees, sore whatever it may be. Getting in that training, I'm able to run smooth, change direction, feel good again. I had a lot of work on (the toe), and I think I've turned the corner." Snyder showed better quickness than some defensive backs as he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds, which would have been good for second among linebackers at the NFL Combine, and the 60-yard shuttle in 11.41 seconds. He notched the highest vertical jump (35 inches) of the 14 recent Rutgers alums at Pro Day. The 6-foot-2 two-year starter said he entered training at 236 pounds, quickly dropped down to 229 and is at 238 in the process of working his way to 240 while remaining leaner. The new-and-improved Snyder also is revisiting long snapping, a skill he used at Cumberland Valley (Pa.) High School
