If DGB checks out okay in his interviews and his 40 time, Baalke could be looking at deciding between Armstead & DGB at #15. I have seen a few mocks having Armstead go top 10, but due to being as raw as he is, believe he will be on the board at #15. I think Baalke would go Defense and take Armstead at #15 and then get a WR in RD2 (Breshard Perriman or Devin Smith). Again after the issues with Aldon Smith, RayMac and Culliver, Baalke might stay clear of DGB, especially with a deep WR class to choose from.

I'd be stoked to get Armstead and Smith with the 1st 2 picks

He has a ton of upside I think he could be a stud under Tomsula. 6-8 290 and possibly running under a 4.95? You can't teach god given athletic ability

This! I think this guy could be Tomsula's master work!

A 4.95 doesn't sound that impressive for someone 6'8 290. I still remember Poe running 4.98 at 6'4 346 and 2 offensive linemen (Terron Armstead and Lane Johnson) running 4.7 the same year. Every year there's at least 1-2 offensive linemen bigger than Armstead that run sub 5's (there were 5 last year including Greg Robinson at 332). Then there's Donald last year running 4.68 at 6'1 285 (built way more solidly than Armstead).
If he runs 4.85, that's impressive, but I think his arm length is as important as his 40 time (his 10 yard split too).

I'm just going off of what MadDog was saying in his defensive big board (sub 4.95) He has him rated in his top 5 for 43DT/34DE/34NT.

Yeah, I saw that and probably should have commented there. There are quite a few 290+ pounders who can run sub 4.95 40's. Every year there are some offensive linemen who do it and some defensive ends 270+ who run way faster than that. I would not be as impressed with a relatively lean 3-4 DE running a 4.90.

The only thing that screams first round to me about him is his potential.
I think he can be great, he just doesn't seem to do well at DT.

We just can't afford to roll the 15th pick on this guy...
He's got that "boom or bust" written all over him...
It's scary because when the IDIOTIC NOLAN drafted Balmer (UNC), he was dumb enough to tell the media that "Don't grade him now, wait until his 3 year or so"... and I'm afraid that this kid is just another Balmer in the making..
I say NO NO NO, til maybe in the late 2nd round..

I see Baalke taking Preston Smith DE Miss.ST. in the 2nd rather than Arik in the 1st and Arik will go in the 1st round.
Baalke will go WR in the 1st, either at #15 or with a trade down later in the 1st to also pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd RD pick depending on how far down they trade.
