It's like you're relying on broken instruments to play in a symphony.

And it's obvious you've never really seen Shelton play, or else you wouldn't be calling him JUST a NT. And back in 2004 I would've drafted Vince Wilfork with the 10th overall pick.

This. Williams and Dorsey both are fine as NT's but both have questions, particularly with Williams and his injury issues. I think Shelton can be a beast of an NT if he's properly motivated and really puts the work in. Its absurd for a guy that big to move as well as he does.

With all that said though, I have said things could change in my Mock Draft, also my draft crushes depending on condition of player, workouts and interviews. Jordan Phillips and Eddie Goldman really intrigue me, both are just as if not more relentless of a DT.

McDonald is gone. Justin Smith may retire and it looks like he will.

If we lose both our starting defense ends, and it looks like we will, defensive end becomes even a bigger need.

Both Williams and Dorsey are good nose tackles.

With Ray Mac gone and Justin Smith possibly retiring, there could be two huge holes on our DL. Neither Carradine nor Jerrod-Edie have proven themselves as starters yet. So, my 1st rd pick would be Eddie Goldman, 6-3, 315, DE & DT, who played on the 2013 FSU national championship team.

Can someone explain to me why we need Parker?
Dude creates 0 separation (aka just like Boldin/Crabs) He relies on his vertical ability and length to catch balls.
I realize he has more talent than those two (and he is probably faster) but I'm struggling to see how he would help more than Coates or White

Would get completely owned by Sherman and does 0 to help the vertical game.

Kevin White is still my preferred pick. However if he is not available, I wouldn't mind taking either Danny Shelton or Eddie Goldman. If we go with Shelton, I think we get something we have not had, which is a pass rushing threat up the middle. Granted, you don't rely on your NT to do that, but it woudn't hurt to upgrade at that position. There is also the option of taking Ty Montgomery in the second and getting another deep threat like Devin Smith, Tyler Lockett, or Phillip Dorsett later. You also have to imagine what Jim Tomsula and the new staff can do with an insanely talented and young D-lineman like a Shelton or Goldman. Quite frankly, the best they have ever had was Tank Carradine (not counting Justin Smith since he was a vet).

One of the first things I read about Shelton is that he is very quick and can go sideline to sideline. That is not just a NT plugger. At 6'2" 332 he's pretty special.

And best of all...like one of my favorites...Michael Carter...he's a shot put champion! And an academic all american. Think what Tomsula could do with the guy!

At 15 it better be Devante Parker, Devin Funchess, or my favorite Dorial green-beckman DGB
When Kap was at his best he had deep threats and over the last two years we have had none of that. Teams have been able to press the short passing game and there was no creativity on intermediate to deep routes. Get one of these three and problem solved boyz!

I've watched all three of these guys and they catch with there hands and know how to high point the ball. Funchess looks very physical and DGB is a freak of nature period. Devante has been doing this for a while and seems to run very smooth routes.
