Pretty sure he ends up a mid-late first rounder. Oozes with size-speed combo. And, in a pretty bad draft coming up, he holds more value.

Thus draft is so gross, 2014 raped a lot of the premium talent, looking at some of the internet draft boards, I struggle to justify any more than 20-25 guys actually being 1st rounders.

This years class is one of the worst I've seen in a looong time. I struggle to find hardly any talent I'm all that impressed with. Almost depressing how poor it is.

This may end up working to the Niners' advantage, as the difference in value between a 7th overall and 16th overall may be microscopic. In 2011, it would have been gigantic.
This league desperately needs another 2011 to fall from the sky.

This will be a draft where the scouting department earns their money. The little school guys may play a much bigger role in this draft.

Not sure if that's true. Lots of good WR in this draft. Cooper, White, Coates, Parker, DGB, Funchess, and a handfull of others that I can't think of right now. Someone is bound to fall, and Coates is not a plug and play guy yet, so he's as likely as any to fall to us.
Here some other WRs Smelter,Phillip Dorsett,,Tyler Lockett, Justin Hardy and there are others.

I could have sworn that someone made a Coates thread a few months ago. Maybe deleted for some reason ?.......Whatever I´ll just post it again.

Auburn ran the ball on 72 percent of its plays from scrimmage last season and Coates had almost one-fourth of the Tigers' receptions (42 of 173, 24.1 percent). He often did some serious damage to opposing defenses on those catches: Coates averaged 21.5 yards per reception, the most of any player nationally with at least 40 receptions. He had three catches covering at least 60 yards, seven receptions of at least 40 yards and 14 of at least 30 yards (tied for third-most nationally). He had seven TD receptions and they averaged 54.1 yards per pop.

I would Like the 9ers to grab Him and Phillip dorsett , are you listening Baalke? I think Baalke has learned His lesson and He will address the Lack of speed, i`m pretty sure in this draft Baalke will come through with at least one speed WR that is a Stud, that miss on Odell Beckham has really left a SOUR taste in His Mouth as well as Jed`s also.

You could be right. One small-schooler I really think we should keep an eye out for is WR Tre McBride of William & Mary. Tremendous ST player too and was not shut down when he played high level competition.

I'm sorry, in what universe did the 49ers pass on Beckham?

I like Sammie Coates a lot, but him being so raw is a concern. If we cannot get Kevin White, Coates is probably the next best thing. It would be great if we knew what we had in Patton and Ellington, then we could go for a more unpolished receiver without any real worries. Funny thing is, because of his athletic ability, he might not even be there in the mid teens where we will draft. And in this draft, I am totally against moving up.
I'm all in with you on Phillip Dorsett however. I actually think if Baalke gets either White/Coates and Dorsett, the biggest beneficiaries will be everyone else (Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin, Stevie Johnson, Patton, Ellington, and our backs). Especially once we hit a few deep balls early in the season for TDs.
