As a prospect, I think he's on even footing with Adrian Peterson. Would be so sweet to grab him, I'd trade up for him in a heart beat.
I agree. I see an impact RB or player period. I have no doubt he will impact the NFL. We need this type of player to crack the back of SEA defense. No other WR in this class will impact NFL games like Gordon will IMO aside from DGB. We ain't picking DGB at 15 but I would nab Melvin there and then early second DGB if he is there to hell with class. Let the FO be classy buy this team has to beat SEA. You line up Kap in the backfield with Melvin you got two homerun threats. Then you put DGB on the outside with VD at TE you got 2 vertical big play threats with Boldin over the middle and underneath. The right OC we can put up points by the pound even on SEA

Coleman looks better to me. He's faster, has better ball security, and better vision. Gordon's tape is basically him running through huge holes that won't be there in the NFL.

I invision the 49ers taking a stud DL or WR in the first. Outside of those two positions, I just don't see it.

Exactly.

The drop off between Gordon and a back we can get in the 2nd or 3rd is not very big IMO. The drop off between 1st round WR/DL and those in the 2nd or 3rd is huge.

This is not a draft to trade back in.

I completely agree. Given that we have 9 picks total and 7 that we can move, I think the 49ers need to target the guys they want and move up to get them this year.

I definitely agree that Coleman is better player and the smarter choice since we won't have to use a first round pick on him.
I just know we better get impact players on offense because we've done diddly poo vs SEA and we ain't winning this division again anytime soon until we acquire a couple gamebreakers.
I get Gordon's abilities...but I see Gore coming back...with Hyde and Hunter returning, where/how would Gordon play?

I am disregarding Gore coming back or not right now since he ain't a lock. Now assuming we resign Gore prior to the draft then our needs may change drastically. Even with Gore we gotta get an explosive player added to this offense or our scheme better start dialing up big plays more consistently because we will need them to oust SEA in this division. I know that with the right scheme we can crank up tons of yardage and big plays with Kap and Gordon back there but to truly unleash a guy like Gore vs SEA we will need some WRs that will force SEA to cover them early and often and get them out of our rushing lanes. I don't see those WRs as a lock to do that as I do Melvin Gordon being a big play waiting to happen at any point on a football field. DGB is a WR that I can see as having the potential to require safety help of the top on most every single down because he looks like Dez Bryant reincarnate in a lot of ways. I know we need that WR and some DL beef but I also know we need explosive players on offense this draft and I want to ensure we get the best of them. I think if we got Melvin at 15 there will still be WRs on the board selecting round 2 that can add explosiveness and in my dream scenario I would make that guy DGB. I am just dreaming guys but who knows what we will do

Even if Gore comes back, he should be taking less carries. Hunter might be a nice kid, but he is nothing to brag about and I won't lose sleep if we were to cut him. Carlos Hyde is the dude, but him alone is not enough. We need a dominating RB tandem going forward especially if Kap is still around, we will need a hell of a run game. Don't forget, Seattle will be drafting a top RB to replace Beast Mode in due course. Bleacher Report has them picking Todd Gurley in the 1st. That is Pete Carroll's style, he loves big power backs, just look at their RB corps they are all bruisers. We need this guy !!
Pick this guy. He is so awesome.

The dude is doing it again, 28 carries, 230 yards and 3 TDs against Auburn.
251 yards and 3 TD's vs. Auburn.
No doubt Gordon is a special guy. To me, he and Coleman will be outstanding pros. I think he has a good chance of going above us in a lean draft year. We will see

I doubt it, unless Todd Gurley falls.

I doubt Gurley goes early with his injury
