Kevin White WR, WVU

I just don't see the 9ers taking a receiver in the 1st, especially since Stevie Johnson and Anquan Boldin are there. I'd say in the 2nd is where a receiver is being targeted. With Ray McDonald, Justin Smith possibly gone, Ahmad Brooks most likely gone, both CB's possibly gone, not to mention a shaky NT position, defense has got to be the pick, just too many holes, Matter of fact IMO, 75% of the draft should be dedicated to the defensive side of the ball.

If they do go with D-line or cornerback in the 1st, I could imagine Devin Smith still being there for them in the 2nd. A guy being compared to DeShawn Jackson could really be a factor in this offense now that Cryst is running the system. The guy is incredibly quick and fast - just ridiculous foot speed. He'll probably blow up the combine and end up not being there. I would love Kevin White on the Niners, but I'm not sure he'll stay at #15 for long because he's got everything.

Most mocks or prospect rating sites I've seen have the WRs listed in this order (or near):

Cooper: 6'1" 210
White: 6'3" 210
Parker: 6'3" 209
Green-Beckham: 6'5" 225
Strong: 6'3" 215
Coates: 6'2" 213
Smith: 6'0" 190 (or 6'1" depending on where I look)

I've seen all these guys listed in the first round at various sites. Cooper will be gone but then there are so many really good receivers after him which could push them down.

Edit: McShay has Smith listed at 6'5" so his mock might need a bit of editing!

Naw...Cleveland is trying to figure out how to move up for a QB!

There is at least 5 teams ahead of us, Cleveland included, who could also potentially pull the trigger on a WR.

Don't think he will be an option either. I think of the consensus top three only Parker stands a chance and even that's slim because I can imagine Bridgewater fighting for him already
It may force us to think twice about DGB..

No thanks possession receiver looks slow

Draft Scout lists his fastest time at 4.38...not exactly slow. Watch some video on the guy...he adjusts really well to underthown balls and runs well after the catch. Not much to complain about! He's being compared to Larry Fitgerald...not a bad thing!

Interesting comparison with Cooper: Wyatt with SB Nation.

Kevin White Advantages: Size, Hands, Acceleration & Release, Blocking Ability and Catching in Traffic.

Amari Cooper Advantages: Open Field Ability, Body Control, Speed and Route Running.

Draws: Character, Quickness & Agility

Better yet, I was looking (on this board) at a list of sub 4.4 guys and only Juilo Jones was worth a damn. Sooo, may want to temper the "Speed" element with football ability.
