Cannot agree with that. I doubt seriously that Evans go before #8. We have the picks (perhaps a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th) to move up in front of Detroit or the Bills to the 9th or 8th spot. I think that's VERY doable, and we'd still have a slew of picks left to address all kinds of needs.

Isn't that pretty much our whole draft?
Not when we have two 2nds, three 3rds, and three 7ths, not to mention a 4th and 5th. If we made that deal we'd still have a whole draft left. Just how many rookies do you see making this teams 53?

I'm not saying we won't move up, because we likely will if Baalke sees an opportunity. I'm saying I don't expect us to sell out for one player. And I wouldn't be shocked to see us grab a medical redshirt guy or two to stash for the future.

Last shot...

- You seem to be saying we have a limited window because we stand to lose guys in the future, so we should go for broke in this draft.

vs.

- I'm saying we need to draft with long-term success in mind as well. I won't be upset if Baalke trades a 2014 pick for a higher 2015 pick or picks up medical redshirts. That's how we sustain success. It's how the Patriots, Ravens, and other perennial contenders have remained competitive for so long.

Side note: I always like it when my intelligence is insulted by people who start sentences with "Lol", call me "bro", and use multiple question marks for no real reason.

Where is this ever said???

Why do you want to sit here and argue that we are going to be in just as good of a position to win a SB with or without these players???

DUDE SERIOUSLY, is there something wrong with you???

No one is saying "go for broke" or anything like that. Not saying mortgage the future, not saying we only have limited minutes to win the SB or it will never happen again...

Why don't you go argue with Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis and Frank Gore why they said its SB or bust this year....???

I'm not saying sell the franchise to take a player so we can win the SB, I'm saying WE HAVE ENOUGH PICKS to land impact players and STILL draft for the future...

Do you understand this....???

I think they might shift their eyes to CB or S instead and still move up, but maybe not as much. There's gonna be an early run on WR's... could change a lot.

Well *if* that happens, then sure they will go defense. I'm way ok with that, I think Defense wins championships afterall.

Having said that, I'd be REALLY happy if they do trade up for a cornerback. That means Fangio is getting serious about his nickel D and is strengthening his Nickel D against Elite passers. Fangio's always been a base defense kind of guy. He hates to sub out players and go nickel or dime, he likes to keep his starters in as long as possible. I think he feels his zone blitz scheme lessens the need for a strong nickel or dime D (and consequently the need for high round coverage defensive backs) because of the pressure scheme he plays. He relies more on pressure than coverage to stop passing attacks.

Ghost, who's our pick going to be?

1.) I think they'll target Mike Evans but likely won't be able to swing a deal to move up that high
2.) They'll settle for Odell Beckham around 10-15

Who goes first OBJ or Cooks?

Watkins goes at #2
Evans goes at #5
Beckham could go to the Bills at #9?!?

Then I have no idea what the Niners will do... Cooks?

Man, I hope your right. I've conceded we won't find a partner.

I hope OBJ...Then we swoop into the mid/late teens to snag Cooks.

It's Super Bowl or bust every year, obviously. That's the goal.

Answer my questions and clarify your point of view. Also, settle down there, champ. You seem upset.

- Would you be pissed if we traded a 2014 pick for a higher 2015 pick?
- Would you be pissed if we drafted a medical redshirt candidate or someone else unlikely to play in 2014?

Beckham will go first, but Cooks won't last past the Eagles at #22, and will probably go to the Jets at #18 if the two top safeties are already gone.

I think that is very likely. I'm not sure that Beckham is worth going all the way to 10 though. If you are going to go that high it makes sense to go ALL the way and go get Watkins or Evans.

our entire defensive backfield (other than guys named Reid) is suspect and our star linebacker is missing a leg at the moment. We have aging WRs and we have a soon to be free agent WR that's going to want his payday come next year. We have an unknown that is going to play center, and we have an aging RB and a guy named Snyder which is another name for a turn stile. Osgood is a one dimensional player and 33 years old. Vetrone is 31 and has absolutely no ability to cover WRs. That's around 10 or 11 by my reckoning.

I say yes to question 1.
I kinda say yes to question 2 as well. We've dealt with so many injured dudes these past couple years (Tank, Lattimore, Looney was injured ya?).

Again I think the Bills might take Beckham at #9.
