Is denver sticking with a 3-4 or are they moving to a 4-3? Dumerville proved unreliable in a 4-3 for pass rush and they would then very likely go after a DE high

21 sacks in his first 2 season in Denver in a 4-3. Not unreliable by any stretch.

If Peterson somehow drops past Buffalo, wow--then it starts getting interesting. We better hope that Baalke has his mind made up on Peterson if that's his guy. I do believe we will work the phone with Cincy just as much as the other teams (Dallas) who have him rated as BPA. The problem is that lower picking teams will be spending more for the Bengals spot.

I hope the Bengals want a top-tier player and pick at 4, or just trade down with us, only a few spots so they can land a great prospect. I do not want to give up a third round pick however, to jump up.

Im saying no matter what we better be ready for someone to jump us if he falls past 3.

We need Amukamara to have a great combine so Cb needy teams can wait and jump on him in the mid first. I hate Dallas.

Dallas is the one team that scares me trading up ahead of us to nab Peterson.

Oh yeah, that's right. Its realistic, especially since they don't have many holes. I've been thinking about this very subject all day. What stumps me is how much they would be willing to pay for example, say the median spot of #4. And how much the minimum would be for them to make the jump.

One factor is qb; if teams believe that we're going in that direction, then that helps our scenario I believe, but I see only one qb possibly going top ten. And if Cam is gone before us, then teams are smart enough to know we're not going that direction and would most likely jump ahead. One or two drops for Peterson and he immediately brings value for the cb hungry teams.

Denver could still take Peterson and team him with Bailey, I doubt that happens.

Carolina could take Newton #1 and then that would set Denver up to take Bowers and to team him up with Dumervil coming off an injury

Would the Bills now take Peterson?
i would lough at the panthers for about 1000 years if they do this, i.e. taking newton 1st ovr. yes, they need a qb but they need a lot of other things too...and its not like newton is a clear cut 1st ovr pick...not by far.
i think that PP is gone before we pick b/c the browns could use another great corner.

I guess I put my foot in my mouth there. Thought that was the big thing with him and when they moved to a 3-4 he flourished?
Peterson apparently has had chronic cramping problems his high school and college career. Could tip the balance for some teams choosing in the top 5 toward another prospect.

I would be ecstatic if we picked him up.

cramping can be fixed by streching that wont scare teams away

lol i wish

apparently bengals are taking palmers retirement seriously and in market for qb

another team that might pass him up now we only have to worry about cardinals(who should take von miller cause they have 0 pass rush and talented secondary) and cowboys who might trade up to get him

This has ZERO impact on their draft.

You don't pass up a top ranked prospect because you have a good CB on the wrong side of 30.

I agree, value over need in general. However, there's two problems with that here. First, picking at #2 means there are a lot of people who could end up as the best value. It's not a lock that the Broncos have him #1 or #2 on their big board, and it may be that Bowers or Fairley is at least equivalent as far as value goes AND fills a need.

Second, economics are going to play a big factor. Champ's contract wasn't massive, but it was a lot of money. Can they afford to put that kind of money, plus #2 pick money, into one position? Seems doubtful to me.

thats wht they wont take peterson that 2 people with 4+ year contract who you will have to pay 10 mil a year each year to they still haveneeds at DE both DT LB S TE positions they cant afford it
John Fox just went on record saying Orton is the starter. Fox is a defensive coach, and he likes linebackers...I think they'll be focusing on defense in this draft. My guess, is they go with either a defensive tackle or von miller. then again, who the heck knows.

Unless they plan to use him at S. That be a great secondary. Champ on a island, against crabtree. Vd matched up against Peterson at SS.

Well said brother
A lot of recent mock drafts has Peterson going to the Cards...
I THINK ITS GETTING LESS AND LESS LIKELY HE FALLS TO US. AT THE VERY LEAST SOMEONE WILL TRADE UP AND GRAB HIM AHEAD OF US.
