Yes yes, I know a lot of people don't like him, and will be dumb enough to not even read my post and just start bashing him. Everyone bashes him, we know, you can save yourself the trouble. I just wanted to give a forum to the subculture of zoners who see the potential in Locker. I am one, and here are my thoughts as to why: -Elite elite elite physical tools -Elite intangibles -Legitimate team leader...and a guy teammates and coaches love -Clutch! He doesn't always make a play, but when it counts he does -Phenomenal footwork -I know Washington isn't good, but they just beat a top 20 team in a bowl game! that's huge for WA!!! He isn't Newton in this respect, but he IS a winner -Tough. Really f'n tough. Played hurt all year -Shows flashes of tremendous accuracy -Fantastic throwing on the run -Elite runner. Best running QB I've seen since Steve Young. Whereas VY and Vick are better runners, and more athletic, Locker is a much better decision maker regarding when to run and when not to. This fact makes him a superior running QB. When he does run, he's extremely effective -Perfect for the WCO Things that scare me: -Touch on his passes. Stop throwing the short passes so hard! -Is he too scared already? His accuracy would get worse as he got hassled more and more. Just started to play scared at times. Has that damaged him already? -Accuracy needs to be more consistent -Stop staring down receivers. I think he needs to get away form his first read quicker. -Not ready to play right away. Will need major coaching from Harbaugh

MD and I both project Locker to go in the first. A guy with these kinds of tools just doesn't fall out of the first often. Tebow didn't, and neither will Locker.

his potential is worth a third round pick for sure, but i wouldn't go any higher than that... of all the second tier qbs he is the one with the most risk in terms of performance

Meh that doesn't bother me. According to NFLN, teams have been really impressed with Locker's knowledge of the game and drawing up plays.

In the heat of the moment I'm sure that was pretty scary. I don't recall what he got on the wonderlic but by all reports he's a highly intelligent guy.

If this guy is there in the 2nd round it would be a blessing from god.

This kid can play and he wants to be great. For people who keep bringing up his passing accuracy check out how Joe Montana looked at ND. I'm sure a lot of you will be shocked with the results.

I laughed a little bit too when I saw that, but I don't blame him for freaking out. He got sandwiched by some big guys!!

I keep saying that if he were to fall to the 2nd, we would need to do all we could to get him. He would do very well under Harbs. I just doubt that he'd fall that far. Too much skill and potential along with a good head on his shoulders will be hard to pass up for teams in need of a QB.

The reason his numbers don't scare me is because the guy will bust his ass to get better.

He has all the physical tools to be great he just needs to put it together. His offensive line and receivers didn't help those numbers at all. The guy is a warrior and has a great attitude.

I mean let's get real here, Alex Smith had monster numbers and plenty of guys put up terrific stats in college who cannot handle the NFL.

My 2 guys to trade up into the first for are Locker and Ponder.

I think Locker goes mid first anyway so Ponder is the guy to move up for.

I agree with you 100%. This is the same reason why I liked Tebow so much last season. I compare the two and they are both very similar except Locker has a stronger arm and a quicker release. They both have incredible work ethic and know what they need to work on to become better players.

he scored lower than Newton, Vick range.
