Suppposedly he's not the brighest cat in the world. Bad attitude, drug problems, not very intelligent, horrible footwork.

That being said as a 3rd round pick I'm okay with the selection. At that point it's pretty much a needle in the haystack and at least with Mallett you know he's got the tools.

Lol he won't be there in the 3rd. He'll probably be a top 15 pick.

CBS Sports has him currently as a late 2nd / early 3rd round grade. They rank him as the 5th QB behind Newton, Gabbert, Locker, and Ponder.

He seems the most likely QB to drop a WHOLE lot on draft day

He's going to need an excellent combine just to maintain a 2nd round status. He's got the arm to wow everyone there the question is how does he interview and he does he score on the wonderlic.
i dont like him as our first-rounder but in the 2nd or even the 3rd, mallett would be a steal. i dont care about his interview at all as long as he isnt a completely brain-damaged a*****e.
teach him how to avoid sacks efficiently and how to NOT throw into traffic and we have a monster at QB...i cant forget about his bowl game appearance, e.g. these outside shoulder throws to his receivers in the endzone or the accurate passes between the numers in gerenal...just wow.

and lets be fair to this KID, it has not been proven that he has a drug addiction. Has he used drugs? probably...but does that mean hes a drug addict? hardly.
Petrino defends Mallett

“Ryan did a tremendous job for the University of Arkansas, was a tremendous leader, was a very, very dedicated student athlete,” Petrino said. “It’s unfortunate that at this time of year those young men are scrutinized by the NFL teams. You have to understand it in one aspect because they are going to invest millions of dollars in them. But, in the other aspect, you hate to see the rumors and things that go around there that are absolutely untrue.”

I have the same concern with him that I do Newton, work ethic.
Ryan Mallett is "lineman slow"

That's not too bad. He was only 1 second short of spectacular.
Rich Eisen almost beat him.

Mallett has THE ARM of the draft ...could be the next Marino! Harbaugh draft him!
Bucky Brooks of NFL Network described Mallett as “absolutely sensational” during today’s workout, saying he easily makes every throw. According to Brooks, scouts and coaches in attendance were comparing Mallett to a couple of Hall of Fame pocket passers, Dan Fouts and Dan Marino.

With Newton, I question whether he can assimilate an offense. With Mallett, I question whether he can withstand the pressures from a defense and pressures of being a QB in the NFL.
Mallett has legs of stone, no question, but anyone that has watched him play can see that he has a unique ability to throw "the perfect pass." Mallett can throw passes that simply aren't defendable.

He has many other questions aside from his immobility, but all the QB's of this class have questions. Ryan still has tremendous talent -- the kid simply put can throw the football. I have him graded as a 1st rounder in the 15-20 range.

I've also heard Ryan Mallett being compared to Drew Bledsoe.
