Yes, at 170, which is a late 5th, early 6th. Most experts had him as a 7th rounder, including both Mayock and Kiper.

A real reach.
do you think there are any offensive tackles that could contribute next year? who is our rt i forgot

I'm more worried about our o-line than our d-line

The guys I really like at this point are more finesse players. Jamon Meredith and William Beatty are both good players, but are on the light side. I'm suprised that both are still on the board.

It looks like we may take a flier on a risk player or two in the later rounds.

I expect we are going to eye a RB in the 3rd, then OLB and OT in the 5th.

3rd: Johnson - RB - Liberty
5th: Hunt - DE/OLB - Houston
5th: Alex Boone - OT - Ohio State

The RB's look to be on the board in the 3rd. Surprising to me.
Sidbury is the one guy I'd like to see the Niners pick in rd 3. MD - think he would be a good fit and will be there?

They do indeed. Looks like 9ers weren't enamored of any of them in the second, and perhaps saw this fall coming. Likewise didn't seem impressed with Sheets in the 4th- though maybe they see him falling to 5.

Here is my personal analysis of 49er's first day draft: It is better to be lucky than good. Crabtree fell into their laps, and it doesn't take a genius to realize that a future number 1 is better than a number 2. All in All, I think you have to give the 49ers an A+ for this draft so far.

Athletic, but pretty green. He's not going to give much in his first year, but might be a solid pass rusher in 2010.

He might be on the board at 74. Some of the other ready-made athletes jumped him on the board.

Michael Johnson is also on the board, which means teams are really down on his effort. His size and speed combination is outstanding.

I expect the Niners to target RB in the third round, and maybe an OT in the fourth.

If both Andre Brown and Rashad Jennings are there in the 3rd, who do you feel would be the better fit, and who is the better talent?

I have never professed to be an expert at hitting the specific player at the exact spot in the draft.

However, I am sorry to let you down. Next year, I promise to hit 64 out of 64. All of my players will be in the perfect order.
