A 32 year old receiver whose contract the Falcons need to shed and very few teams can take on his contract. The Falcons should give us a pick to take his contract. I'd offer one day 3 pick for Julio and Atlanta eats some of the contract.

Why would the Falcons give him up for less than Denver got for a 32 year old Emmanuel Sanders? Somebody will be willing to give that 2nd day pick for an elite WR, which he still is.

Because he's still owed a ton of money. Sanders was making peanuts compared to Julio. Atlanta has less than $400,000 in cap space and needs 7 to 8 million to sign their draft class.

i think atlanta knows they are in rebuilding mode and they dont have cap space i think we can get below market value for him especially since hes 33 (?)

but if they want key cornerstone players id rather just stick to what we have which is already really good imo

That would only matter of we were the only team in on him. Atlanta situation doesn't matter, the only thing that does is who is willing to give up the most for him. It isn't happening for a 3rd day pick by itself.
You guys want him?

I'd say it's 50-50 he comes here if the Patriots can't work something out. I gotta disagree with you elguapo, just look at his numbers in 2016. I would be like having a big faster "version" of Kittle with HOF hands. Now imagine them on the same field. Sure he won't put up 2016 numbers but they won't be that far off.

Yeah, I can just imagine Jimmy trying to throw his fluttering ducks down field to Jones.

No way am I giving up a key player for a 32yr old WR, no matter how good he is, rather go with the guys we have. And again it's gonna be impossible unless he takes a pay cut in 2021 & 2022 and/or Falcons eat some of his salary, also JG isn't being traded, so they'd need to create cap room, which just pushes money down the road, I always hated redoing deals, the 49ers had to for 2020, this year they don't, but if they want to bring in someone like Julio they'll have to, plus you have to pay your own first, so Warner is more important than Julio. But if he takes less in 2021 & 2022 for a new deal, and we don't have to give up a s**t ton of picks, plus ruin the cap long term, then ok, but I don't see this happening.
I wonder if Kyle and John have gone after so many RB's is because they plan on using Mostert as a trade chip. Mostert for Julio?

Unless Julio prefers to play for Kyle. He could refuse to play for the Ravens or for another team

Mostert and a 3rd & 6th for Julio + $4 mil of his salary sounds like a good deal

I might be having a little fun, but it would be fun to have Jones on the team, whoever the Qb is.

LOL

Oh damn guys. That sentence I wrote "If we don't get Julio, this would be the worst place for him offensively" this.....was referring to the Pats being the worse place for Julio if we didn't get him. Sorry

Which would be a weird stance to take since his best two seasons were with Kyle. Both years first team all pro...I don't think her ever had that in another season.

The Falcons haven't had particularly good luck with health in 2020, and star WR Julio Jones was no exception. ... Despite the nagging hamstring injury this year, Julio has actually been the opposite of injury-prone and rarely misses games. Before 2020, Jones had missed a combined 4 games between 2014-2019.Jan 1, 2021
