If we had got let's say Earl Thomas that season, that would have been an improvement and less chance we gave up that 3rd and 15

I'd cream my pants if we signed Mack.

Dudes at the end of his career... I mean how much more can he give us.. anything is better than what we have no doubt. Could see Mack going down with an injury. That just seems par for the course with our team

If we sign him we can pretty much guarantee he's getting hurt. Thats why we still need to take a good center in the draft to develop behind him. I'm scared we wouldn't do that tho and just rely on Garland or somebody equally as garbage.

This. Especially at his age. Not too many 35 year old starting centers in the NFL.

Just because we draft a center to develop behind Mack does not mean said center will be ready to actually play center in year one if injury dictates it. If they do draft a rookie center, I could see a scenario where Garland or Brunskill is the active backup on gamedays and the rookie is kept inactive.
I'm a big fan of Mack.

The injury concerns are valid.

Is there any other FA Centers available other than the guy from the Packers who will be wayyyyyyyyyy out of reach $$$?

He really isn't and never has been an injury concern. He's the best fa C that imo will be less than 6-7 million a year

David Andrews in NE
Matt Skura in Baltimore.

End of the day Mack makes the most sense given the system/HC and money. I can see them asking Ricburg to take the vet min and putting him on the PUP list, along with signing Garland dirt cheap as a backup IOL.

Andrews had a major injury.

Competent consistent C play will go a very long way for this line. Mack is clearly past his prime but he knows the system well. He's the perfect short term
option as long as we also draft depth.

Agree. I'd like to add that he'd be a great role model for a rookie center. Age and injury are a concern for me too, but not really if they have a good young rookie waiting in the wings behind Mack that can be tutored by Mack if Mack is dinged with a ankle injury or something.

Key there is to have raw talent behind Mack to step in when Mack gets hurt. I would totally disagree and be *Very* disappointed if all ShanaLynch did was sign up Mack and Trent and didn't invest some serious draft capital on some talented OLine rookies.
