AJ Green anyone?

I didn't see a thread dedicated to him. Here's why I think the niners should sign him.... 1) It's hard to get back to the superbowl. We had a great year,no doubt about it. The teams that compete and make it back year-after-year constantly upgrade and add new talent to an already working process. The niners are in that perfect little window and Green would keep the excitement and magic going into next season. The niners cannot afford to stay stagnant or they will be good, but not great next season. We need to evolve. 2) That brings me to the man himself, AJ Green. Why him? We need a true #1 opposite of Deebo next season. Some say Kittle is our #1, but having a true #1 WR adds another dimension to our offense that will propel it to the next level. Sanders is aging. He was great for a half-season rental, but there were games he disappeared. Green adds that big play ability down the field. Not the jet sweeps or underneath throws that Shanahans offense thrives on. That only got us so far. When we needed to throw downfield in the Superbowl we couldn't. With Green, defenses have to account for our great run game, kittle plays, deebo plays, and Green running wild pulling people towards him to open up other things. 3) Jimmy G's development. Give him a true #1 and see what he can do. I am a big Jimmy supporter and have no doubt he will take that step next season with a guy like Green. Plus he'll be a another year healthier with his knee and will be able to move around alot better. Get him AJ Green I trust this organization and if they do not make a move like this, I will be ok with it. The only reason I see we don't do this is for cap reasons. Other than that, go get him or someone like him

This draft class is epic at WR. I'd rather draft another young WR than burn a ton of cash on 30+ yr old WRs

Wouldn't mind it. It really depends on his market though. 49ers don't have a ton of money to throw at him. So it comes down to whether he's looking for a nice payday or looking to join a contender.

Would love to have AJ Green but he's gonna want a ton of money and reps the 9ers can't give him. Sanders and Deebo will continue to start, with maybe 1st or 2nd round pick mixing in for reps to get his feet wet. Green will probably go to a team with a lot more uncertainty at WR than the 9ers like maybe Philly or Buffalo.

I think he still has something left, so if the cost is close to Sanders, do we choose Green instead, did the year off do him good and bring him back to 100% healthy ? Just questions I ask..

I wouldn't pay AJ Green 84 million after being on the shelf as long as he has. Now if we are talking a 2 year 18 million deal with the second year being a team option I would be all for something like that. That way if he pans out we have him for at least one more year at a friendly number, or you can offer him a new contract at a higher number.

Yeah I mean I think Cooper would fit in excellent with this offense. There is no way that happens though. With three large extensions coming up and Cooper wants to get paid, the niners aren't going to have money to give Cooper what he wants.

They may not even have money to give Green what he wants. His projections are all over the place. But if he's willing to take less money at his age now and injury history to play for a contender then Id atleast look into it.

I think there's a real possibility we go after him. We did sort of the same thing with McKinnon and Coleman. Spend big money/resources on one guy to then get the guy we really wanted all along.
