Dante Fowler/Shane Ray, EDGE

I doubt either Fowler or Ray are available. Just because a team doesn't pick up your expensive option, doesn't mean they don't want you. Look at us with Tomlinson.

Both players are really good rotational pass rushers and a team would have to be crazy to get rid of that when they are trying to compete.

Both Barrett and Ray will be UFA's after this year and with the selection of Chubb, one or both may want out instead of being a rotational/situational player. So they may opt to move one to get something unless they believe that they can get a better comp pick than what teams are willing to part with to obtain one of them.

Fowler may opt to resign though despite the fact that he is a rotational/situational end but a lot depends on what the Jags will do with Campbell. They have a potential out with CC's contract after this year and he will be 32 when the season starts.

I like the idea. We'll have to sacrifice cap space and draft picks in the near future for them, but Praag can structure a deal with either one that should be good for the team and the player. Worth taking a look at and discussing, considering we'll be drafting much lower in the future with Jimmy at the helm.

The difference especially with Denver is they drafted his replacement in Chubb (top 5 pick) Then Barrnett also signed his tender for $3 million this yr (and he's the same age as Ray) He's their Rotational guy same with last yrs 2nd rd pick DeMarcus Walker.

I can't see anyway they tag him next yr (that's like $17 million) and they don't have any cap space in 2019 currently. Tomlinson is looking at getting a bottom of the barrel starting OG money, Ray isn't gonna want to get backup money and IMO you'd think he'd like to start somewhere.

That's not the point though. If both players want to test free agency in a year, then so be it, but both Jacksonville and Denver are trying to win a superbowl now and having plenty of pass rushers is a great way to increase your chances of achieving that goal.

If either team really wanted to move either player, they probably would've done it during draft, like we did with Trent Brown. Considering the weak FA list of pass rushers and then an even weaker draft class, both teams could've capitalized off this if they actually wanted to trade either player. Neither did.

Pretty much what I was going to say.

I think the staff will take a look in preseason to see how Marsh, Harold, Pita, and Attaochu look at EDGE. If no good, we make a more for Ray. Broncos still need OL help, and Tomlinson for Ray may be a fair value trade.

what do you mean that's not the point? The point for players is to get PAID. They will not get PAID on their current teams (especially Ray) you don't pay a rotational edge rusher what they could get on the open market plain and simple.

I see no way that either guy would take a team friendly deal so what you let them walk for nothing?

We moved Brown after we got a RT to replace him. If I'm Denver I'm moving Ray if the offer is good. Give me a player that can contribute MORE than a backup edge rusher. Someone that will be in the fold past this yr.

The pt is neither of those guys will be signing a "team friendly" deals at the ripe age of 25. They want as much money as possible because it could be their last contract. They aren't gonna tag them because the team would look like idiots because they didn't throw the option on them.

If I'm Denver I'm trying to move him for something that will help this team long term. They have multiple edge rushers now with Chubb, Walker, and barrett.
