Rams trade 1st round pick to Patriots for Brandin Cooks

Rams are putting together a fantasy football team. It sounds too good to be good. How will this end?

They can't get OBJ. They don't have any picks in the 1st two rounds this year and I doubt the Giants trade him for 2019 and 2020 1st round picks.

They got nothing to trade, this cooks trade was made most likely because they couldn't get OBJ

If the 49ers are going to make a statement this is the time to do it. They need to make a trade to acquire more picks or for a big-time player.

The thing about trading their first round pick, and paying a higher salary than a rookie would make, is that it puts them farther in the hole down the road. Eventually that is going to bite the Rams. They are certainly going all in on a win now at all costs direction.

#Giants price tag for Beckham was too steep for the Rams. And Rams were most intent team. Perhaps #49ers step up now.

Rams need to give big long term deals to:

Cooks
Donald
Peters
Gurley
Joyner
Goff

That's an easy $75M/year in cap hits.

They're all in on 2018. 2019 is a total toss up.
