people usually try to trade players before they cut the guy.

KC was the one who asked to throw in Quinn not the other way.

oh nvm just read the tweet lol. well damn looks like hes staying with them

Not gonna happen.

Quinn hasn't been good since 2014...he's been put on IR for concussions and back issues. I'll take Ziggy

When healthy I would personally take Quinn over Ziggy but certainly won't complain about Ziggy. And before I get slapped with stats about pass rushing I loved Quinn back in the draft and had him #1 over Smith and Miller cause of his discipline and edge setting. As far as doing his job and gap responsibility is why I would take him over Ziggy.
Knowing we have the GM in our front office that drafted Ziggy, i wouldnt be surprised that he is who we're going to get anyway.

You know what's kind of a crazy stat I saw that made me a little nervous about Ziggy?

PFF credited Ziggy with 37 total pressures last year....Solomon Thomas had 30.

Although to be fair he had like 60-70 less snaps than Sully and Myles Garrett had the same amount with similar snaps.

I do have a soft spot for Quinn from the 2011 draft and I think his career is on the upswing again but I'd still take Ziggy just because i think we can just let him do his thing off the right side.

yeah I heard that yesterday...like you said they forget to mention that he had less pass snaps. They also didn't talk about that team around him, they have no other pass rusher (inside or edge) for teams to game plan for. Honestly he hasn't had much his whole career in Detroit.

I would imagine those pressure #s would go up with Buck/Solly/AA in the fold.

Quinn is who I wanted the Niners to draft that yr (over Smith)...I can't agree with you that his career is on the upswing with all those concussions he had. He's a backup plan IMO, if they even move on from him. He also just never seemed to look the same after that back surgery either.

Both have injury issues, both would be upgrades.

I would love to see Ziggy with a good DL around him (all he's had is a banged up Ngata). Quinn for most of his career has had some studs on that DL.

honestly I just want the better pass rusher and I think that's Ziggy (with the guys we have) I'm all for either though

Agreed. With the complete lack of pass rushers in the draft we really need Ziggy bad.
Well it looks like you can scratch Quinn off the wish list. Ziggy or bust?

Quinn was good this year, played every game but the last one and had 7 of his 8.5 sacks in the 2nd half of the season.

Sacks really aren't a good measuring stick. Ziggy had 12 sacks while Von Miller had 10. Yet I'm sure most would argue Miller is the best pass rusher in the game.

Quinn is going to be 28 at the start of this season and in his past has had a 19 sack season. Health was his issue the last couple years that and being in a bad system. Assuming they do cut him because of $$ he will propel near the top of the F/A list IMO.

If he gets released, he won't sign with the 49ers. There's going to be hella teams bidding for his services. However, I do feel like if they trade for him, even a messily 7th pick in the 2021 draft, it can possibly save the Rams a lot of money and it guarantees the 49ers that Quinn lands with them. But I do not know if the Rams would trade with a division rival.

Interesting point. Watch the Patriots trade a future 5th round pick and get Quinn. They certainly have the cap space for him as of now.

I'm confused why he wouldn't sign with us...not like we don't have cap space and have an up and coming team and gives him a chance to stick it to the Rams.

What do you think it will cost??

Why would they cut him of they wouldn't even include him in the trade with KC?
