This is a guy whose name has been thrown around a lot on the forum and someone that I could see the 49ers pursuing. He's the third string TE with the Eagles behind Ertz and Celek but he has produced every time he's received the opportunity to play. He can catch and block well and has outstanding athleticism. He's also an accomplished special teams performer. He's a true move TE, similar to his former college teammate Jordan Reed and someone that I could see Shanahan being intrigued by. Still pretty young, Burton has shown that he deserves the opportunity at a more expanded role. Delanie is 33, will be 34 at the start of next season. That ship has sailed.

Ironically, I think his game compares favorably to a younger Delanie Walker. He just needs that opportunity that Delanie got as well.

In that case, I agree with Phoenix. Sorry Smoke.

At this point I'd prefer a younger guy like Burton that still has more room to develop into his prime over a guy that is past his prime and in the twilight of his career.

Burton would be a great pickup. We would have a pretty good TE core. He can create matchup problems. Can't see LB's cover him.

I'm assuming Celek would be gone?

Jimmy Graham/Tyler Eifert/Trey Burton are prabably the top 3 FA TEs this yr and he's gonna get more money then people think.

Jermaine Gresham got 4 yrs $28 million and I wouldn't be surprised if he at least get's that.

Baalke wasn't the GM of the Cardinals when Gresham got $28 million lol, my point is he's gonna make at the very least that much if not more in FA. I think kittle is gonna be more than fine as our featured TE, spend that money on something else.

I know he wasnt there i said "Baalke move" as far as a premature extension like he did with Vance McDonald and Bow lol.

But yes im big on Kittle too.. Im not antsy for another TE to challenge Kittle or desperate to try and be the Pats.
